[THREAD] A story about the time I came close to having some of my fingers bitten off. It’s been quite a few years, but I still remember it vividly. It was 1996/97, in Madison, WI. I had been a piercer for a few years. Definitely not “new” but also not a "seasoned professional".

@DanaWessel @CheyCab Steve’s is my go-to spot. Price has always been lower than the dealer. Last thing they did was $200 less. Close to my house and I like to supportt small. Usually willing to pay more to go to a small business. They can’t always compete on things like tires.

Saw my eyebrow waxer today. Said she’s never been so slow, and I told her everyone is slow from the sex worker to the tire shop. It’s natural for small businesses to internalize and think it’s just them. And right now it’s not.

@CheyCab So much misplaced anger. Any theories on why Mpls is so bad this year? Are they just not equipped (budgeted?) to deal with frequent, smaller snow events? Seems wild if so. I know there has been a bit of bad timing with a couple rain/snow events, but still.

I’ve just seen a bunch of TikTok’s with people bitching(justifiably) at MnDOT for not plowing the roads, when they are talking about MINNEAPOLIS streets which are not MnDOT’s responsibility. MnDOT is doing a fine job. You guys need to yell at the proper municipality please.

@CheyCab Wild. I did mine last August and it took maybe 10 days. It sucks for sure that it is taking this long - but this has been coming for years. Unless there is something I am missing, it would not have been hard to avoid being caught in this delay.
