Hindus, Please use the word 'symbol-usage' instead of 'idolatry' to refer to Murthys, Rangolis and Yantras so that the hypocrisy of supremacists who use high tech devices designed with thousands of symbols like Greek letters, flowcharts and circuit diagrams stands exposed.

@adleecrasta @SanjeevSanskrit Indian Christians like Adlee are either unaware of or are suppressing "The doctrine of discovery" put forth by the Church that enabled colonial oppression around the world.

@SanjeevSanskrit Christians don't glorify St. Xavier to showcase to Hindus, but pray to to him for blessings. Your contempt towards him is misplaced as Portuguese commited atrocities in the Inquisition after his death, where even converts were tortured for not being "Christian" enough.

My chatgpt on Why admiration of Francis Xavier creates Hindu distrust on Christians. 1. The issue is not whether Christians have the right to follow Christ. They do. The issue is whether Christian institutions in India can continue publicly venerating Francis Xavier as a moral and civilizational hero while expecting Hindus to trust missionary activity without suspicion. That expectation is unreasonable. The distrust is not imaginary. It is evidence-based. 2. Francis Xavier's own letter records idol desecration In Xavier's own missionary letter from India, he writes that when he hears of "idolatrous worship," he goes to the place with a group of children. He says the children run at the idols, "break them to pieces, spit on them, trample on them, kick them about." This is not a later anti-Christian allegation. It is Xavier's own reported conduct. Reference: Internet History Sourcebooks, Fordham University - "St. Francis Xavier: Letter from India, to the Society of Jesus at Rome, 1543" sourcebooks.web.fordham.edu/mod/1543xavier… 3. His contempt for Hindu worship is visible in the same source The same letter describes Hindu worship as "idolatry" and frames the idols as connected with the "devil." It also records that Xavier encouraged children to develop "hatred for idolatry." That is not respectful disagreement. That is civilizational contempt. Reference: Internet History Sourcebooks, Fordham University sourcebooks.web.fordham.edu/mod/1543xavier… 4. Portuguese Christian policy in Goa targeted Hindu temples and practices Britannica records that on March 8, 1546, King John III ordered the Portuguese viceroy in Goa to destroy Hindu temples, stop Hindu practices, prevent idol worship and Hindu festivals, and evict Brahmins from Portuguese territory in India. This shows the wider missionary-colonial environment in which Hindu sacred life was not merely criticized but actively suppressed. Reference: Britannica - "Goa Inquisition" britannica.com/event/Goa-Inqu… 5. Xavier requested an Inquisition in Portuguese India Xavier died before the formal Goa Inquisition began. That must be stated honestly. But Britannica records that Francis Xavier wrote to King John III on May 16, 1546, requesting an Inquisition in the Portuguese Indies. So while he did not personally run the later Goa Inquisition, he cannot be morally separated from the demand for coercive religious enforcement. Reference: Britannica - "Goa Inquisition" britannica.com/event/Goa-Inqu… 6. The Goa Inquisition later expanded against local Hindu practice Britannica records that the Goa Inquisition was formally established in 1560. Its original focus included suspected heresy among converts, but it soon expanded to include Indian converts suspected of secretly observing Hinduism or Islam. This means Hindu continuity itself became a target under Catholic coercive machinery. Reference: Britannica - "Goa Inquisition" britannica.com/event/Goa-Inqu… 7. Xavier continues to be publicly glorified by Catholic institutions Vatican News calls Francis Xavier "Apostle of the Indies" and "Patron of the Missions." It celebrates his missionary career and baptismal work. Reference: Vatican News - "St. Francis Xavier, Jesuit, Apostle of the Indies, Patron of the Missions" vaticannews.va/en/saints/12/0… 8. Pope Francis also described Xavier as the patron of Catholic missions and presented him as an exemplary model of apostolic zeal. Reference: Vatican - General Audience, 17 May 2023 vatican.va/content/france… 9. This is the central contradiction. Christian institutions cannot glorify a missionary who showed contempt toward Hindu sacred forms, who reported idol desecration, who operated within a colonial environment hostile to Hindu temples and Brahmins, and who requested an Inquisition - and then expect Hindus to show automatic trust toward missionary activity.

Look who is talking about “uniqueness”. The follower of a god who created many languages because people were powerful and building a tower to reach the sky. The follower of a god who wants everyone to worship only him and give up all their unique ethnic religious identities. Whose co-religionists have committed religious destruction and genocide across all continents except the Arctic and Antarctic. You want Bengalis to leave their indigeneous deities that form an integral part of their identity and worship a dead Jew. So, sit this one out.
Indo Catholic🇻🇦♱@IndoKatholic

If the BJP wins Bengal, it will mark the end of Bengali identity politics and instead turn the state into a Hindu-Muslim vote battle like they did in Assam. That is what they want, the BJP chief is quite ecstatic about "Hindu Polarization". It will be a sad end to WB's uniqueness

If Sanatanis unite no one can harm Hindus. Not even where they are minority. But recall what happenedned to the Kahmiri pundits in the early 1990s. They had to choose between death, convert to Islam or flee leaving their land and possessions. Recall how they were beaten up in border areas of WB-Bangladesh. Elsewhere in Hindu majority areas minority live with dignity and pride sometimes boardering on arrogance. Hindus tolerate everything and are too kind. This is detrimental to their well being.

I recently visited the The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City and noticed several idols of Indian gods and goddesses. Many such pieces are believed to have been stolen from temples and now sit in museums far from their cultural and spiritual context. Authorities, including @IndianEmbassyUS, should actively engage with institutions to facilitate their rightful return. These are invaluable parts of our heritage that deserve to be restored. @MEAIndia @PMOIndia @HMOIndia @MinOfCultureGoI @ASIGoI @SanatanTalks @HinduAmericans

A Hindu girl was forced to remove her Kanthi (Tulsi) mala during the NEET exam in Surat. Her father courageously protested: “I am the son of a Hindu and I am standing in Surat, not in Lahore, Karachi, or Pakistan." He said — "You people cannot remove hijab and burqa, but you have the guts to remove the Tulsi mala from my daughter’s neck!”

Telling a gubernatorial candidate, @VivekGRamaswamy, that his conception of God is wrong and consigns him to hell—when he didn’t ask—is plain conceited religious hubris—and it’s supremacism. But to debate whether the soteriological claims in this conversation are theologically grounded is to miss the point entirely. Every Hindu American like me has faced this sort of street corner proselytization. Vivek is that unique politician who cares enough to meet people where they are and dialogue about how he views divinity when he could easily just sat “no thanks” and move on.

Bay Area neighbors are losing jobs while companies roll out AI. That's not progress — that's displacement. If a company adopts AI, they need a real plan to retrain and keep their workers. As your Congressman for CA-17, I'll fight for federal incentives that reward companies who do. AI should create jobs. Not erase them. — Ritesh Tandon, CA-17 #BayArea #SiliconValley #AIJobs #CA17 #TandonForCongress
