I am Sarah, a servant of Jesus Christ, and I come as one seeking the grace of God, to travel with you in his service together. I am sent as archbishop to serve you to proclaim the love a Christ and with you to worship and love him with heart and soul, mind and strength.

My Catholic faith informs my worldview. I guess to some folks on the political Right that qualifies as “integralism” which is apparently an “anti-American” ideology. Noted.

A superior kind of map. Not a map of vote margin per capita in each precinct, or each sq mile It's vote margin per square mile, meaning rural areas that are 100% Trump won't be as red as suburban areas that are 60% Trump, because Trump got less margin per sq mi there 1/🧵

When we were designing Age of Empires 3, one of my jobs was to double-down on obscure European colonies in the Americas, so we could justify as many of them as possible. The game featured British, Dutch, French, German, Ottomans, Portuguese, Russians, and Spanish, and I was able to account for every single one except Ottomans. And for the Ottomans I was at least able to truthfully say that they had had the ability and the fleet to reach the New World. (For those trying to say, "But they'd have to cross the Mediterranean first." Look at the map. They can depart with their fleet from Casablanca or Dakhla.)

It’s important to pause every once in a while and reflect on the fact that this is what passes for really smart liberalism. There are more people in New York, so they should get to decide the direction of the country. People thousands of miles away in smaller states should just deal with this, because they’re less important. The compromises that led to the status quo are somehow completely irrelevant today. There are no important cultural or organizational principles that conflict with this outlook. It’s all very simple and totally stable and produces no interesting downsides.

Just two urban islands of affordability on the east coast.
