Maplehurst Correctional Officer Charged After Contraband Smuggling Investigation A correctional officer at the Maplehurst Correctional Complex has been charged following a month-long investigation by the Halton Regional Police Service. The investigation, which began in early February 2026, focused on allegations that the officer transported contraband into the facility at 661 Martin Street. On March 19, 2026, 33-year-old Adrian Deonarine of Mississauga was formally charged with one count of Breach of Trust by a Public Officer. Deonarine was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Milton court at a later date. The HRPS says the investigation is part of ongoing efforts to maintain safety and integrity within the region’s correctional facilities.
