Just JavaScript by @dan_abramov and @Mappletons is fantastic. I already loved it, and then I saw the site is using Next.js and @vercel 🥰 I'll pick three random people who RT this and buy them a copy. Support course creators! justjavascript.com

@markmanson Over-preparing is a form of perfectionism your brain uses to avoid failure. if you never actually start you'll never fail. Action is the antidote to anxiety. By taking action you overcome your fear of failure before it grows. It's better to start now and learn as you go.

“Untangling assumptions is harder than teaching new stuff” is probably a golden rule, doesn’t only apply to new companies
Francois Ward@FwardPhoenix

@eggheadio Don't expect the second employer/company to work exactly like the first. Don't assume anything you're used to applies everywhere, especially when discussing it during interviews, but also when onboarding in the new job. Untangling assumptions is harder than teaching new stuff.

So it takes a singles tweet to convince me to actually learn ts
Alex Radulescu 🇸🇬@Alex_Rdls

@_tonygaeta @kentcdodds At first I was against it. The first month of using it was meh. I didn't see the benefit. After that once the codebase got bigger and refactors started I was won over. Even small prototypes or demos I code with TS.

Put the word out that you are looking for a new position. Heck, you can even be public about it if you really want to flaunt it. Tweet it. You may be surprised at what’s out there for you. Then plan the transition to a new role and try not to burn the bridges down as you leave.

I don’t think companies that are going to force their employees to go back in (at any time in the future, even if the pandemic magically disappears (it won’t’)) are ready for how badly this is going to backfire on them
