One of the things I keep reminding myself of when I see a great player from another school in the portal is that none of those players entered the portal in search of another team that would be more fun to play on. Everyone of them is there because they have an agent who told them they could make more money somewhere else. So if you're losing players from your current lineup to the portal, odds are you can't afford any of these others when you couldn't afford to keep your own players in the first place.

@NotOnly1Ryan @awstar11 I understand that. But... everyone assumes a wealth tax will only affect stock owners; however, many of the super-rich are real estate developers, or have fortunes in art, or ship lines, or oil wells... Same thing; they will have to borrow or sell to pay the tax.

@theoldcfo @awstar11 Yes but its slightly different. See, if they tax my stock, ill have to sell some stock to have the cash on hand to pay the tax which triggers other taxes which means I have to sell more things to get money for those taxes and suddenly im broke.
