Joy to get to work alongside the most remarkable small groups right across the region. Motivated by a love for their neighbour and committed to their communities they're a hidden glue and supporting them is what we do @WellspringsT
Wellsprings Together@WellspringsT

Wellsprings Together have got a brand new video! Sometimes it's not so easy to explain what we are about and what we do. Some of our staff, trustees and partners share their thoughts and experiences of our organisation and our work. wellspringstogether.org.uk/what.../wellsp… youtube.com/watch?v=dBZqPL…

@2D0XPS Can you share a good intro article/guide to how this used to be and what different traditions did?

Evangelicals are probably worse affected by this. For instance, you seem to get either slightly confused evangelicals wearing cassock-albs whilst denying their ministry is sacerdotal or they reject vestments altogether.
Daniel Heaton@2D0XPS

@thevicarswife @joseph_rohrbach The liturgical default in the Church of England now is Liberal Catholic. CW:Daily Prayer and the Eucharist at General Synod (and every cathedral) are the proof of that. Catholics and Evangelicals alike have memory-holed the entire liturgical life of the CofE before the 1980s

@thomasforth I don't see you often talk about Sheffield a lot in your comparisons. Why is that? Is the data not good enough to see the impact of the tram or has the impact not been what you expected it would be?

Saving our churches is saving something fundamental about Britain itself, the Britain that still believes in fairness, hospitality and humour. The Britain that knows how to queue politely, laugh at itself and show up when someone needs help. The Britain that looks after one another quietly and without applause…We need to see these churches not as burdens but as gifts; as the infrastructure of kindness. #greatexpectationsforchurches

Rob Rinder talks about his deep affection for churches. "Places where the sacred and the ordinary share a postcode." #GreatExpectationsForChurches

@OSacrumCorIesu I'm not sure, to be honest. There's been a 30% decrease in regular givers in a decade. Average weekly giving is £16.90. In case helpful!

Adrian Greenwood (Southwark) recalls that in the 1980s a target was set for C of E worshippers to give 5% of their net income to Church and 5% to other charitable causes. "Can we go back to reemphasising this as a target which we can achieve?"

@hodgehillvicar Surely it depends what a) we mean by powerful b) what said leader does with their power? Some of the most problematic leaders I've experienced were those who either pretended that they didn't have power or failed to use their power well

@BrephosUK This is an interesting perspective Dave. Do you think that we should expect a greater consensus in political opinion amongst discerning Christians? Is this true generally in life or specific to the political sphere? Would you expecting Christians to largely vote the same way?

@frjonathanbish @liambeadle @MissalModernist Agreed on the difference between displaying his glory and showing his love. But could you make a case from Matthew 6. We look at the birds of the air and see God's sustaining love and remember his Fatherly sustaining love for us. Though I'm not sure that's what they're saying

I remember realising while doing some impact reports a year ago that almost all of of the things I thought Wellsprings did well/made a difference were down to the team rather than me and I think as a leader that feels about right. Looking forward to watching and cheering on!

It feels very weird that this week is my last one at @WellspringsT as I move on . We talk a lot about "transforming communities" but as ever in reality its more that communities change and shape you. Working alongside the most remarkable churches, faith and community groups
