@NobleFeatures @savschippy91 @WallStreetApes @realDonaldTrump He's talking nonsense. The TV licence pays for our public broadcaster (BBC TV, BBC radio, BBC Studios, world services and iPlayer). Many UK films are supported by it too You don't need a licence for BBC radio services, streaming services or for non BBC catchup services.

Officers in England are going into peoples homes to make sure they have licenses to watch TV Man in England has just been notified an officer is coming to his home to do a check “Why are you being visited? To ensure you have a f*cking TV licence and this includes Amazon. You need a f*cking license to watch TV. — You can't even watch Netflix on your laptop without needing a license” (United Kingdom: You need a TV Licence (£169.50/year) to watch or record live TV on any channel (BBC, ITV, etc.) or use BBC iPlayer for anything, live or on-demand — fines up to £1,000 if caught)

@M_Don @NoLieWithBTC NATO isn't just about spending. It's about sharing technologies and information and many other things that you can't exactly put a price on. People point at costs without looking at the whole picture. what idiot would sack nuclear personnel without knowing what they did? Ah...

@MarcusHouse It makes a change from the UK passing laws and Australia laughing at us. The thing is, it won't make any difference. How would they know who it was online and what they were using if everything went via a VPN? I get their intent but it'll never work.

Just then our government EASILY passed a law to ban anyone under 16 from social media, and enforce it with digital ID and/or 'other forms of age verification' unknown. This verification will be required by all Australians and presumably tourists in the country. It's a f'ing disgrace.
Anthony Khallouf@ausvstheagenda

🚨BREAKING: The ‘Social Media Minimum Age’ bill has passed through the Senate. It will now officially become law. 34 YES, 19 NO.

@LizKershawDJ @BritishGas @BritishGasHelp Octopus is probably the best at the moment. They just did a few hours of free electricity. They're good for anyone with solar panels too, with different offers. I think they also do a cheap rate of electricity for charging cars and house batteries too.

I've been with @BritishGas @BritishGasHelp for 20 years for both gas and electric. The signal from their "smart" meters failed earlier in the year unknown to me and their billing has been all over the place since. I've spent hours trying to reconcile their demands against what I've actually consumed. And payments. For instance, £400 that went from my bank account but didn't register with them. As all the actual energy supplied is the same...can anyone recommend a competent supplier?

@MarcusHouse There's no reason why parental controls can't be added to all ISPs. We've had that function for years in the UK. We've never used it and I don't know anyone else who does, so would it work? Digital IDs will likely be abused and stolen. Current flaws in Windows show that.

Anyone here as an Aussie, I hope you see this as what it is. This if it passes I'm certain will have all of us required to hand over our identification to use public platforms like social media, and it will only get worse from there. So saddened our government from almost all sides wants to force this on us under the disguise of protecting the kids. It will never work and there are many ways to actually address this issue you are pretending on trying to solve. We are the parents, leave our kids alone.
Anthony Albanese@AlboMP

TODAY: We're introducing our bill to make 16 years the minimum age for social media.

Russia just struck a non-nuclear nation with an ICBM. The attack against Ukraine was non-nuclear but clearly designed to simulate a nuclear attack. RUSSIA IS THE AGGRESSOR. PUTIN IS THE AGGRESSOR. CONDEMN PUTIN'S ESCALATION!

@ellieinspace Complete success. Worked as intended. It's a pity that some accounts on here don't look into how the whole testing procedure is licensed. It certainly wasn't a fail as they claimed.

Confirmed- catch attempt aborted due to loss of comms with launch tower computer. I want to commend SpaceX for erring on the side of caution, depsite the President Elect being there. Of course I’m sure we all wanted to see a booster catch, and I know SpaceX would have loved for that to happen, but I’m glad they chose safety and rationality! The great news is it wasn’t a booster issue, and the tower is also safe!

@griffitha Supermarkets need investigating on their profits. They've seen ballooning profits while claiming to be helping out the struggling people of the UK. Sainsbury's were moaning about how the extra NI is going to eat into their profits. I mean, really!?

Retailers bitterly regret cosying up to Labour: - More buyers’ regret from top retail bosses than an unwanted January sales bargain! - Unfortunately for so many retail and hospitality workers there is a ‘no returns policy’ and they will pay the price of Reeves’s Budget with their jobs. 👇 telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/…

@ThomB01 @dave_west1990 @ArtCandee I personally think they diverted because Trump was there. Now that's a theory. The documented flight license was the same as for flight 5. It's an easy-to-read document. Any issue with either the tower or booster, it lands at sea. It was spot on target too.

@AlexBHeeb @Kathlee48680963 @ArtCandee They're building faster than NASA ever has and cheaper. They're using money from Starlink too and creating a lot of employment for some fantastic engineers. Musk isn't SpaceX. He's a useful idiot. Wait until you see how v2 flies.

@Dizzybutterflyy @dave_west1990 @ArtCandee It was also planned for. If either the booster or tower reported an anomaly then it automatically landed in the sea. It was bang on target so was obviously a success.
