No and I’ll give you a few reasons why.
1. I don’t want Ben Rice handling this pitching staff. The #Yankees rotation has been superb and Wells deserves credit for how he handles the staff even though he’s been dreadful offensively.
2. You don’t know if the physical and mental strains of catching will diminish Rice as a hitter. He’s been hitting like an MVP so far this season and the Yankees can’t afford for him to regress from that.
3. You can’t play Unc everyday. We saw that last year. At this point in his career, Goldschmidt is better suited to be a bench player that starts 1-2 times a week.

@Thats_BB_Suzyn i agree 100%. he’s been fantastic and looks like a certified ace but he’s never had the work load of a full MLB season. I hope he proves us wrong but i’d rather sit on the side of caution since he is so controllable

This post upset a lot of Yankees fans. Let me explain my thinking.
Cam Schlittler is currently on pace to throw 204 innings, and that doesn’t include the playoffs. He has never thrown more than 150.
Are we not even a little bit worried about this kid’s arm being spent for what looks like our best chance to win the World Series in 15 years?
I’m not saying I’d definitely move him to the pen for a couple months. But I think it’s worth asking how we keep this kid at 100% for a deep playoff run.

Cam Schlittler to the bullpen for a couple of months might be the answer. He shouldn’t be throwing 200 innings this year anyway. Let him fill the Michael King role. 2-3 innings at a time every 3-4 days. Then back to the rotation by July.

I’ve seen so many people on this app raging over the call up of Anthony Volpe. Yes the injury to Jose Caballero is unfortunate but for people to say they are not rooting for Anthony Volpe to succeed up here is pathetic.

Here's my question. Let's say Volpe shows no signs of anything different up here and the defense is mediocre, when Caballero is healthy and returns, what happens? Would they send Volpe back down in that scenario or does Caballero go back to being a utility guy? I fear the latter.

if you wear the stripes I root for you. some of the hate is forced, he’s not the worst player to ever play the sport. it’s more of a meme. he won a gold glove, hit a grand slam in the WS. he has the ability to play AT LEAST average. better take advantage of this opportunity kid.

his bat isn’t why he’s on the team. i know he came up as a bat first catcher but thats no longer the case
