@shuvmajumdar @YoungStreete It's not "like he has no idea what he's doing". He obviously has no idea what he's doing. It's like Trudeau is advising Carney now.
English

“Canada joined the statement shortly after it was published by the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan.”
So, Prime Minister Carney opposed contributing to regional stability, until allies in NATO and Japan supported it.
He casts himself as a ringleader for middle powers, instead, objectively, he’s flip flopping his way through a major crisis. Our allies acted, then Carney’s Liberals begged to be read in after the fact.
It’s like he has no idea what he’s doing. Four positions in the first four days, and no idea if this position would hold for the next four days.
Our allies act on their shared interests. So too should Canada.

@Reil76 @Tablesalt13 So you're defending our ridiculous prices because the U.S prices are high as well? Weird flex.

Hey conservatives, can you explain this? I thought it was just Canada?? @Tablesalt13 and thoughts?

@modernhistory This is fake. There’s no way the Hollywood Production Code would have approved that costuming back when it was enforced.

Following questions from CBC News, MP Lori Idlout says she has reimbursed the House of Commons more than $1700 for purchases made at a business she owns.

@ElectionsCan_E Vote early. And if you're one of the undocumented, vote often.

@DanAlbas Perhaps if you hadn’t been so busy shoving the NDP aside this would have been avoided. Still she spent less than your leader is currently blowing out his ass for nothing
English

This exact topic "hospitality and gifts" is very clearly covered in the House of Commons members handbook.
There is literally no possible way to "mistakenly" buy from your own art gallery with house provided funds.
Either you directly requested the House paid your gallery via an invoice or you, as an MP, requested re-imbursement with a receipt.
Neither of these things can happen by "accident".

Public office isn’t for personal gain. Canadians deserve clear answers, full transparency, and accountability when rules are broken. We need real penalties when politicians break the public’s trust. Too often, Liberals are only sorry once they get caught.
English

@LJB_OceanSide @katemckenna8 So what you're saying is, Scheer didn't do anything wrong either.
English

@katemckenna8 It's hilarious to read the comments and faux outrage over less than $2000 dollars but these same people have no problem with Andrew Scheer being leader of the OO after stealing hundreds of thousands!
🤣😂🤣

All I can say is someone better to do a wellness check on Canadian Liberals/Left because Poilievre on Joe Rogan’s show is going to be a DEFCON 1 triggering event.
Laura Babcock and Dean Blundell are probably going to need to be resuscitated. 😂

Well, the floor-crosser just got caught buying items from her company and charging them to the House of Commons. That is a big no-no. Who believes it was an oversight as she says.
Nunavut MP Lori Idlout says she has reimbursed the House of Commons for items bought from her own shop "in error."
Idlout is the sole proprietor of the gallery Carvings Nunavut, which sells Inuit-made carvings and artwork. Publicly available expenditure reports show that on four occasions in 2025, Idlout expensed items to the House of Commons purchased from the business she owns.
Members of the Parliament are not allowed to benefit from expenses or contracts charged to the House of Commons.
The total value of the purchases was $1,756. Two $150 purchases were made in January 2025, a $76 purchase was made on June 25 and a $1,380.00 purchase was made on Aug. 27. All were listed as "gifts given as a matter of protocol."
In a statement sent to CBC News following questions about these expenditures, Idlout wrote they were for Indigenous artwork used in her capacity as an MP.
"They were submitted in error and I have subsequently reimbursed the House of Commons for the total value," she wrote.

@Martyupnorth He will do his duty to the Liberal Party and not recuse himself.

Why are Canadians calling for Chief Justice Richard Wagner of the Supreme Court of Canada to recuse himself from the upcoming appeal of the Emergencies Act case?
Easy. He's biased.
In April 2022 (while the Ottawa protests were ongoing) Chief Justice Wagner made strong public statements criticizing the convoy:
* He described it as the start of "anarchy."
* He said protesters were holding citizens "hostage."
* He reportedly characterized aspects of it in terms like "sedition" in interviews and remarks.
These comments came before any full legal determination by any courts on the Act's use.
This creates a reasonable apprehension of bias (the legal test for recusal in Canada). Any fair-minded observer might question whether he can impartially hear the appeal, given his pre-judgment of the facts and events central to the case.
Question is; will he recuse himself?
