The Role of ‘Aql and Naql in Ash‘ari Creed
The source of receiving and understanding beliefs among the Ash‘aris is reason (‘aql). Al-Juwayni, Al-Razi, Al-Baghdadi, Al-Ghazali, Al-Amidi, Al-Iji, Ibn Furak, Al-Sanusi, the commentators of Al-Jawhara, and many of their leading scholars openly stated that reason is given priority over transmitted texts when there is a conflict.
What is meant by “transmitted texts” (naql) are the texts of the Noble Qur’an and the honored Prophetic Sunnah.

I left my Quran open on a stand in a YouTube video and got flooded with comments saying that's disrespectful. I asked them to show me anywhere in the hadith or Quran where it says that. They couldn't. That's culture, not Islam.

CONFIRMED: The main reason why the talks collapsed was an under the table proposal by the US for Iran to officially recognize the state of Israel. The Iranian negotiators walked out of the table and refused to tolerate such a discussion. This was an embarrassment to the US team.
