Exposed oak joist ceiling and subtle lighting coming along nicely in our rear kitchen extension.
Joists spaced closer than usual at 250mm centres instead of 400mm so that we can support the weight of a wildflower garden on the roof directly above it.

3 hr train commute this morning for what should be a 45 min train. It wouldn’t happen in any other major city in the world but for some reason Melbourne just has to cop it. Pathetic.

This happened a few miles away on London’s Kilburn High road and it’s terrifying. British cycling were saying in the article yesterday that they’re worried that rhetoric against cyclists online could lead to violence on the streets. They could have a point.

@annamoore83 Grim - This is why I don’t cycle in SE London 😟. Too many acts of aggression and near assaults. Used to ride my bike loads more in Hackney & my commute to Tower Hamlets - seemed to be more quiet ways - hard to avoid the big roads here. More safe routes in SE Ldn pls @willnorman

Someone in a car just rammed me, on a bike, while I was trying to go down a road.
The road was lined with cars on both sides, there was only room for one car to pass between & they were hurrying to join the UK queues on the s. circular.

@StokeyUpdates @MsSFothergill @hackneycouncil I’m not a highways expert but I’d suggest the tactile blister is for a crossing where a car has priority so would send incorrect signal. In the early ‘copenhagen’ crossing examples there is no tactile paving. See Clapham or Walthamstow

- On a level crossing.
- Where a footway joins a shared route.
