The plan was that we become the institutions. Institutions are ultimately just groups of people coordinating capital at scale. The problem is that, today, participating usually means handing over custody and trusting a small group to make the decisions. What if you could coordinate capital without giving up custody? That’s the thesis behind @ridemarkets. Capital coordination needs a new primitive. We think that primitive is operational futarchy: people compete on decisions, capital follows conviction, and performance determines who earns access to more capital.

spent time at @islanddao Thailand last month and still thinking about it. a villa full of solana builders in koh samui. saw people locked in. learnt a ton just being around people actually shipping. best part: meeting folks IRL i’d only known through X. @readylayerone was one of them. good people, good place. gm 🌴

In life, a lot of things are about odds You can always do the right things to give yourself more chances to roll the dice, or put yourself out there to increase your exposure to luck, but at the end of the day it is still a statistic I think I’ve been lucky a lot, and for that I’m grateful

Six months or so ago, I wrote a piece about all the Cosmos projects that had shut down (at the time, it ruffled a few feathers). Unfortunately, since then, things have gotten worse. A lot worse. Let's take a look: Cosmos Labs never did build the Eureka (IBC V2) bridge to Solana or Ethereum L2s. Cosmos Labs never did address the super high inflation of the ATOM token. A whole host of validators left, including CitadelOne and Cosmostation. Noble went into maintenance mode, ending development of USDC and USDN. Injective USDC never moved off EVM or became transferrable over IBC. Neutron closed, taking Drop, Mars, Structured, Duality etc with it. UX (formally Umee) closed. Wormhole's legacy front end for Cosmos closed. Saga got hacked, and rebranded to AI Labs. Secret got hacked, and today announced a closure and move to Arbitrum. Gravity Bridge got hacked. Quicksilver got hacked. Namada got hacked. Thorchain got hacked. Story protocol became the Data Foundation. DyDx went into maintenance mode and instead set up Arcus on Robinhood chain. Levana Perps closed. Xion rebranded to Verona. Om rebranded to Mantra, and now they're trying to get everyone to switch to NVNM. Elys migrated to Base as Ryze. MapOfZones is about to close. BitFrost Cosmos bridge support is being ended. Osmosis went into maintenance mode, following a failed merger with Cosmos Hub. Polaris closed down. Kava (Lend, Mint & Swap) went into maintenance mode. Jackal closed. Akash are leaving. Leap Wallet closed. Stargaze closed, migrated to the Hub, and no-one cared. Stride never did find PMF. Liquid staking TVL has dropped to ~$5m. Nillion closed. Pulsar Finance closed. Omniflix closed. Milkyway closed. Toki closed. Dimension moved their liquidity to Solana. Penumbra closed. Pyth ending support for CosmWasm on 31st July. Bitsong migrating liquidity to Base. Pryzm closed. Axelar team acquired by Circle. Astroport went into maintenance mode, ending support for Neutron, Osmosis and Sei. Now only Terra supported. Nomic never did properly launch or make their token tradable (forever compounding). Everything is fine, right?

Everyone rotating to Robinhood memes right now is about to learn the same lesson Solana maxis learned in 2021. Robinhood Chain launched 6 days ago and $CASHCAT memecoin has pumped to $100M already. All of CT is acting like Solana just got flipped and are rotating hard. You feel like you missed it. But here's the pattern and we've seen it repeat a few times. New chains ALWAYS get a honeymoon pump. Always. Avalanche had one. BNB and even Solana had one back when the entire market called it an "ETH killer". The first hot memecoin on any new chain gets wildly disproportionate attention simply because it's new and nobody's bags are underwater on it yet. Fresh chain and fresh narrative. Of course those who didn't get in early to Robinhood memes will remind you though... back in June 2023 near the actual bottom of the bear market Robinhood delisted Solana entirely (had to throw that in there). But before you believe that liquidity has permanently rotated, look at what Robinhood Chain is actually missing: → No @Pumpfun equivalent - they launched millions of tokens and generate constant, self-reinforcing narrative flow → No proven infrastructure under real sustained load (still a fresh launch) Solana has spent years building the thing that can't be spun up in a launch week like sub-cent fees under real load, Jupiter, Phantom, Jito, Dexscreener... Robinhood does have one real advantage. They have tens of millions of retail users. But ask yourself honestly... are you rotating out of sheer fomo? Do you think Solana and Pump are really going to give the memecoin title to Robinhood? Hell nah.
