Everyone's talking about YC Startup School. But I'm still recovering from VibeCon. The event was great... ...but the footpath to reach wasn't. I encountered: - Busted pedestrian infra - Many deep pits - Lots of trash But also good people 🤍 Oh, and I did it on rollerblades.

I would like to heartily congratulate the new owners of RCB. I wish them the very best and Godspeed with the most valuable IPL franchise. When I bought the franchise in 2008 for INR 450 crores, most people laughed at me and criticised my investment as a vanity project. Behind my much touted madnesses was building the Royal Challenge brand and hence I named the franchise RCB. Immensely gratifying to see my INR 450 crore investment grow to INR 16,500 crores. RCB will always remain a part of my DNA with indelible memories including picking the young Virat Kohli who is now amongst the best in the World. To all RCB fans who came on board during my stewardship and beyond, a grateful thank you and please continue to support RCB the Lion of Bengaluru. Namaskara.

@raghav_chadha Sir, if this is implemented, how will the taxpayers be able to fund the low priced meals of politicians in the parliament? On a lighter note, we’ve taken implemented this ad too seriously in “real life”. 🥲 youtu.be/Flmpg5IZ7qA

In Parliament today I proposed optional Joint filing of Income Tax Returns for married couples. Family A Both spouses earn ₹10 lakh each. Total household income is ₹20 lakh. Tax: zero Family B One spouse earns ₹20 lakh. The other stays home to raise their child. Total household income is ₹20 lakh. Tax: ₹1.92 lakh The only difference is how the salary is split between the two spouses. One roof. One kitchen. One household budget. But when tax time comes, the family disappears. The tax system sees two individuals. A husband and wife become strangers. No clubbing of income or rebates. In Parliament today I proposed optional joint filing of Income Tax Returns for married couples, so families with uneven incomes are not unfairly penalised. If implemented, then Family A and Family B both will pay Zero Tax.

@whizkidd @faasos Same applies for Aditya Birla Fashion(Louis Philippe, Peter England, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, pantaloons etc). Same for Tata I guess, Zudio & Westside. Do you think different factories make the cloth? Probably not. 🥲

This is a serious transparency issue. And Rebel Foods -- the company behind @faasos -- is notorious for it. They operate NINETEEN brands on food delivery platforms in my area. Yes, nineteen. All are listed simultaneously. All 19 appear like independent restaurants. So even if you decide not to order from Faasos, chances are you’ll still end up ordering from… Faasos. Just under a different name. I have nothing against the company. They’re running a business and trying to make money. But 19 brands out of the same kitchens? LOL.
Anand Sankar@saybwala

Saw some new brand of restaurant on Swiggy. It said 'The Protein Project'. Order came - it's Faasos roll 🤦🤢 Bill says 'Daily Protein Club' This is misselling and terrible for transparency. I need to know which brand I'm ordering food from. Btw the FSSAI belongs to Rebel Foods.

@jasveer10 I didn’t want to sound like a troll, but I can’t help myself here… Maybe he just wanted to get to ₹50 LPA salary so that he can “join” knot.dating? 🥲🥲🥲

Interviewed a backend developer. Guy was at 21 LPA. We offered 28 LPA, roughly a 33 percent hike. He agreed and confirmed joining. Yesterday he emailed saying he got a 32 LPA offer elsewhere and now wants 36 LPA from us. Nonsense. Why agree in the first place. If you are still shopping offers just say it upfront. We stopped interviewing other candidates and waited through the notice period for the joining date. Now two days before joining, he came back with a new price tag.

@ChristinMP_ @DULTBangalore @YuluBike However, I’d think that if public transport is made predictable by time, “safe&nice” and last mile connectivity is taken care of by shared autos/e-rickshaws, the traffic problem will cease to exist and we may just need a faster metro to cover larger distances in shorter time.

@ChristinMP_ @DULTBangalore Another fun fact, I’ve lived in Bangalore for ~8years and I don’t own any motorised vehicle as cycles & @YuluBike are just more convenient with some occasional help from BMTC/Uber/Rapido and bike rental services.

Bengaluru: HSR feeder bus is one of the most successful models showing how citizens & govt can come together to bring change. It began with a six-month @DULTBangalore grant of Rs 1 crore. Now, earnings per km have risen from Rs 10 to Rs 50, with 10 buses running clockwise and anticlockwise @BMTC_BENGALURU @FriendsofBMTC @BBPVedike

@caleb_friesen Yeah, it’s a tall claim and I hope PW doesn’t go the B’juzz route but I’m honestly happy that they did something which no one did for over these years. I really respect this EdTech & Alakh sir for launching courses at dirt cheap prices and I hope they stay true to their values.

@awwmishaaa I always take the bus. I took a cab once whereas my friend left on the bus at the same time. The bus just took 20 more minutes more minutes. I was on a Rapido cab which monitors speed limits.

@streetfrontier It’ll at best be a good competitor to BMTC busses, unless it really runs fast enough to save time. Otherwise, it’ll just end up as a vehicle which increases property prices. 🥲 Hoping for the best.

In spite of all the negativity around the city, I believe Bengaluru’s Blue Line, once opened, will unleash the biggest transformation the city has ever seen. It will connect current and future growth areas like never before. Hold onto your guns until then.

Bounce share in Bangalore used to move 120000 people daily and used to enable people do almost 10 lakh kms daily with 20k scooters :) wish the cities could create designated parking and support shared scooter solutions. Also 40 percent of rides used to start or end at a metro or a bus stop enabling longer distance on public transport.
Gems@gemsofbabus_

🚨 Indore Metro has lost 97% of its riders since launch. Now it’s spending more on electricity bills than it earns from passengers. > No surprise when it runs from one deserted area to another. Ridership will only rise once it’s fully operational.
