@ModernHerm @JoePostingg Fair, the parents that view teachers as babysitters do in fact pay taxes, but they pay considerably less in taxes than if they paid for private child care. It's a more important point is that taxpayers are paying for education, not babysitting for asshole parents. Fuck them.

Schools are absolutely state provided child care. Schools take custody of your children when you drop them off, and are responsible for keeping kids safe until the school day ends.
