@levelsio Btw seems to be a bug on mobile (iPhone + Chrome): can’t open the hotel details from clicking on the map, find it manually in the list by matching the price rn

IT WORKS!! I can now successfully find gyms with a REAL gym with barbells, plates, and power racks 🏋️‍♀️ No shitty hotel gyms with just a treadmill and 10kg dumbbells anymore All thanks to AI vision models 😍

@levelsio pls add „barista coffee“. One of the most important criteria (if one pays for hotel breakfast)

Minecraft was the greatest CS education ever made. And nobody planned it that way. At 12 I was obsessed. Wanted my own servers. So I learned Bukkit, Java plugins, basic networking, Linux deployment. Built worlds that only exist in my mind but still feel completely real. I broke wifi routers and fixed them. Broke Windows configs and fixed them. Tinkering, breaking stuff, and fixing it later is how we learn stuff best when we are kids. What is the Minecraft for the new generation?

Next week I'll do a big step for Stagetimer, turning it into a real corporation. I'm scared of it and have been pushing it for years. But now it's time to face German bureaucracy. It's save some taxes and limit legal liability. Wish me luck!

Can I use local models in @cursor_ai Like DeepSeek-r1 on MacBook M4? Would be nice for coding while I'm flying?

BREAKING: Europe’s GDPR privacy law is headed for red tape bonfire within ‘weeks’ Europe's most famous technology law, the GDPR, is next on the hit list as the European Union pushes ahead with its regulatory killing spree to slash laws it reckons are weighing down its businesses. The European Commission plans to present a proposal to cut back the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR for short, in the next couple of weeks. Slashing regulation is a key focus for Commission President @vonderleyen, as part of an attempt to make businesses in Europe more competitive with rivals in the United States, China and elsewhere. 🇪🇺 👏

What if we add Ski Free 3d on the mountain? So you can ski down first person from the mountain while holding a bazooka? I guess I need a physics library then like Rapier (?) to follow curve of the mountain? And add snow?

fly.pieter.com has now gone from $0 to $1 million ARR in just 17 days! 💸 Revenue update: $87,000 MRR (which is $1M ARR) My first project ever to go up this fast 🤯 Only 3 ads left now: buy.stripe.com/00g5lueHfbdifB… 📊 Stats update: 320,000 people have now flown in the game Whether the MRR is truly sustainable for a year we can only guess, but they ARE subscriptions and they do renew so as long as the game keeps improving it might happen? 🛸 Since I kept getting hacked by UFO invaders, I decide to sell the UFOs, and coincidentally new sponsor @basecamp wanted an UFO as the origin of 37 Signals (their original company name) comes from the 37 radio signals detected from space to detect extraterrestrial life, so I built them a custom UFO with their original snow globe logo on top which you can see flying around below And I have one new sponsor that sells Ozempic so got the text on the blimp "are you as big as a blimp? lose weight at medvi.org" 😂 I was ski'ing today so was AFK mostly but I did: ✅ Fix more XSS issues, which to be fair unless you explicitly ask it to find every single XSS loophole, AI doesn't really care about when it writes code, so you really gotta ask it to extra check your code cause honestly it can be full of security holes One unlucky (or lucky) thing is that this project took off completely unpredicted and it happened just when I was on travel with gf to France and Switzerland. I didn't wanna lock myself up in a room all day computering so I actually spend most of the days just doing fun stuff with her (as I should) and then in the evening when I got an hour (like now), scrambling and quickly getting things done That would never be possible if I coded it without AI though, it would simply take too much time. Without AI it would have taken me 10-100x more time and I would have simply not been able to build this and maintain it at the same speed AI really is a creativity and speed maximizer for me, making me just way more creative and more fast I still mostly use @cursor_ai + @AnthropicAI Claude 3.5 and trying 3.7 too now! I'm excited to get more time in the next few days so I can really add some new things, one thing I want is to put a big 3d leaderboard INSIDE the game with the scores on it for example

@levelsio Buying a house is a great idea, if you don't live in it. Finance it 100% and get 10x leverage on you invested capital. Way better than any ETF

Don't let anyone peer pressure you into buying a house with the midwit argument "renting is throwing away money" which in 99% of cases is BS Generally renting SAVES you money over buying if you will own the house for less than 15 years New York Times made a famous buy vs. rent calculator that got updated recently nytimes.com/2024/05/13/bri… The same applies to most markets worldwide The only valid argument for buying a house for most people is if you can use leverage (a mortgage) to buy it, but you will pay about the same of amount of the house price in interest payments to a bank for 30 years Big golden handcuffs that'll keep you tied down forever while you fund rich bankers

You are falling for the same fallacy many do when they do this math - they forget to include their rent in the calculation. If you include *your own rent*, as well as the appreciation on the property, owning your home *always* comes out ahead of renting. The calculus should be simple - if owning property was a bad deal, then no one would ever be landlords. The fact that landlords exist at all should be all you need to know that your analysis is wrong.
