Jordan Hawkins (366.3) 377. Drake Powell (368.1) 378. Ben Saraf (368.3) 379. Jahmai Mashack (371.4) A number of catch-all metrics from the around the internet endeavor to tell us who's playing best every year. And though many of the different adjusted plus-minuses attempt to measure the same thing (an individual player’s impact on the game when he’s on the floor), they have slightly different ways of getting there. If you want to acknowledge the most accessible ones, you could say something like… “Jayson Tatum is 3rd in Basketball Reference’s box plus/minus and 7th in wins over replacement player; 3rd in Dunks and Threes’ estimated plus-minus and 5th in estimated wins; 9th in Basketball Index's LEBRON and 31st in LEBRON WAR; 6th in ESPN's Net Points per 100 possessions and 21st in Net Points WAR; 10th in DARKO DPM and total DPM; and 2nd in Basketball Reference’s game score per 100 possessions and 17th in total game score..." …but that’s quite a mouthful. For the last several seasons, I’ve been sharing something of a shorthand for the above. Instead of rattling off that list for any and all players one might want to discuss, I sort every qualified player by the average of their ranks in those stats (as well as their cumulative variants). The results give credit to each of the metrics, throw a bone to basic numbers (through the use of game score) and reward players for availability (through the addition of the cumulative marks). The lists produced by this exercise aren’t perfect, but none are. Strictly subjective rankings obviously have their own flaws. This is at least a guide. And it can give you a pretty good idea of who’s been the best (or worst) in 2025-26. If you’re looking for a specific player (like, oh say, Paolo Banchero), do the handy little “control (or command) plus F” trick on your keyboard and type in that player’s name. Oh, and one more caveat. If someone looks lower than you thought he should be (a warranted reaction to some placements), bear in mind that cumulative numbers (think points, rather than points per game) are in play. So those who've missed plenty of time are affected by that. *Shout out to Tim MacMahon for coming up with the name "Huge Nerd Index" or HNI.

@BarryOnHere @ZssMetc Your OP relies on "playoff efficiency", what does that mean? It can't be record because Rodgers is 12-11, Brees is 9-9, Marino is 8-10, Manning is 14-13 whereas Brady is 35-13. Mahomes is closest at 17-4. They're all great, but what does "efficiency" mean here?

Take away Michael Jordan's rings, he was still the best player of his era with amazing playoff efficiency. Take away LeBron James' rings, he was still the best player of his era with amazing playoff efficiency. Take away Wayne Gretzky's rings, he was still the best player of his era with amazing playoff efficiency. Take away Tom Brady's rings, he becomes arguably the 5th best QB of his era with mediocre playoff efficiency & multiple cheating scandals.

@RadishHarmers @ChrisExpTheNews It’s probably the same thing as a country club. They think a dining hall is an important service to offer but they need enough people to be bought in for the year to be able to sustain it or pay the contractor they use.

So two things about this: 1. Fish itself, however it's understood, is already a dispensation by the church from traditional fasting law. 2. "Fish" is for all intents and purposes a positive legal category in Roman Church law and only loosely related to a set of biological ones. From my understanding of the history, and I would need to review this, the logic seems to go from fish, to water meat, to that less sumptuous meat that is roughly analogous to the meat of water creatures. I myself think that Roman fasting law on this should be reformed either to the primitive practice, though this is very rigorous, or to a rational scheme based on observable spiritual effects.
Robbert Leusink@robbertleusink

The Vatican once declared a 150lb rodent to be a fish Venezuelan clergy wrote to Rome in 1784 They were surrounded by capybaras and facing 40 days of Lent Their description: semi-aquatic, webbed feet, tastes like fish Rome had never seen one, but approved it Capybara is still a traditional Good Friday delicacy in Venezuela today The dispensation was never rescinded

A big problem with the Wolves never really giving players a chance to grow themselves is they are missing out on better trade chips Ayo is great but Was their a world where you could have just gotten Ayo for Lenny straight up and kept the 2s for a future trade etc etc etc
khalil 🇵🇸🐧@PenguinHoops

Complicated slightly by the fact Minny trying to win rn, but Lenny + 4 seconds for Ayo Dosunmu is a pretty big EV win for Chicago.

@Top100Rick @kmbaert The court is relevant not because you’re are going to handle it legally but to define liability. I really don’t think there is a moral obligation for the golfer for something like this with no intent and assumed liability. So unless the law says to pay for it…

@kmbaert It so rarely actually goes to court in the USA, it’s almost irrelevant. It will 99.99% of the time come down to whether the hitter admits to doing it and offers to help fix. Thankfully most people are decent and can figure it out, I hope.

I swear, the dumbest people buy houses on golf courses. No hate to those who own these houses and accept the obvious risk. But people who buy a house in the hitting zone and expect to never be hit just astound me. I honestly question realtors who sell these homes. Did they really explain the risks? Because you’d have to be insane to buy a house on the right side of the driving zone on any golf course. Also, most don’t know they, but most of the time you don’t need to fix ball damage on a house as a golfer. You should, as a good person, but you don’t have to.

@Top100Rick I lived on a golf course for many years in North Ranch, Westlake Village. As an avid golfer we chose a house behind the green knowing full well 99% of golfers never take enough club 🤣. Never had a ball hit the house. Only had a few at the fence line.

@NEMonarchist Everyone is talking about V2, schism, or the SSPX's behavior but isn't the core reason that we don't just consecrate vagrant bishops? Like the SSPX is not actually a canonical entity since 1975, the priests have no legitimate ministry, and bishops of 88 have no jurisdiction.

Here’s a question; why doesn’t the Vatican just authorize the consecration of new bishops for the SSPX? What’s the actual reason why they don’t want this to happen? Should we have this discussion? No just shut your brain off and shout “I STAND WITH ROME!”

@theblessedsalt I don't think the implication is that some surveillance program is being implemented. It's more like if you are really active if your KoC council and suddenly you disappear, the other members might text you to see what's up. Many protestant communities are much tighter like that.

Great wisdom from Sahith Theegala today: “I’ve seen a lot of kids lose their game trying to chase distance rather than hone their craft. What I think has worked for me is focus on the part of the game that I love the most. For me, that was chipping.”

@CatholicSmark This has been covered. It is contrary to divine law, which foresees all possibilities and thus allows no exceptions, to consecrate contrary to the will of the Pope. If anything, the canon just help close any grey areas in this situation by requiring a specific mandate.

The spice nobody wants to hear: Rome should just change Canon 1013, which only existed after 1917 and in 2026 has enough holes to qualify as Swiss Cheese. It won't happen, but it should

@CatholicPods I agree but don't parochial vicars move a lot because they become pastors or are being prepared to become pastors?

The moment you start to get to know a parochial vicar, he's gone. At least with my OPs some of them might stick around in the priory after their parish term is up, so I still see them around. Also they are mendicants, not traditionally pastors, so it's to be expected. Seems bizarre to treat secular priests like mendicants though...worst of both worlds.

How many of the problems people talk about in American parishes (lack of community, consumerism) would be significantly ameliorated if the priests were not rotated every few years?

@ryanmouquegolf The issue is most are not gonna be able to consistently adjust and keep working in the right direction without consistent checkups with a coach. To meet weekly with an actually good teaching pro (of which there very few) would cost at least 10k a year, usually more.

After receiving and helping a lot of golfers in my DMs the last few days, one thing is apparent… Most golfers haven’t a clue what they should be working on The amount of times golfers told me what they are working on and it was so far off that no matter how much they were to work on it, they wouldn’t improve I can’t stress how much value a coach can be for you You can save literally YEARS of wasted time working on the wrong things It hurts me knowing golfers are super keen to improve and are spending a ton of time on their game, only to be working on something that’s going to lead them to a dead end Please… reach out via DM if you need a hand with your game. If you choose to go on with some coaching, great, if not, at least I can let you know what the right direction is

@ZaidJilani The moral insanity of this isn’t even why this will fail. You’re also just an total dweeb if your “trading shares” on whether the US will bomb Venezuela by Febuary 1st.
