I’m selling my mum’s Nissan 2014 Leaf 24kWh, she has bought a new EV. 12/12 battery bars. I really don't want to do DoneDeal so will let it go for €7k, which is much cheaper than any Leaf I can find online with 12/12 battery bars. Car is in Nenagh. More: thomas.bibby.ie/for-sale-2014-…

New all-electric Local Link route 438 starts Monday 22 May, connecting villages north of Galway to Galway City, Headford and Tuam with 3 buses/day, 7 days/week, bringing a number of villages who were not previously served by regular public transport on to the network.

@brndnbnnr Interesting, the Netherlands was specifically cited as an inspiration for the proposed model in Ireland and it’ll be interesting to see what fare/km they finally land on. I think the NL rail network, with relatively low line speeds but high frequency, is a useful model for IE

National Fares Strategy summary published last week: rail/bus fares outside Dublin will be based on a flat charge and a charge based on km as the crow flies. I built a calculator where you can vary both charges and see the impact on intercity rail fares: thomas.bibby.ie/a-rail-fares-c…

Three examples of “priority narrowing” or a “single lane working chicane” in a residential area in Hull, UK. The first two have associated uncontrolled pedestrian crossing points, the first in the middle (in front of a primary school) and the second in front of the chicane.

@BohUallachain @TipperaryCoCo @BrianLeddin Hi Brían, I live round the corner from the scheme, which seems to be focused on increasing car traffic flow: it’s not clear how it is compatible with the new Tipp development plan & its 10% modal share target for cycling. I’m hoping to put in a submission, happy to collaborate.

@TipperaryCoCo Query to yourself @BrianLeddin since you’re only over the road - is active travel not supposed to be included these days ? Trying to get a nice submission going to guide Nenagh, TippCoCo.

@sarsfieldsride @davidtobin100 @Highnellybikes @BromptonBicycle Well you’re more than welcome to take it for a while anyway. To counter my previous points: most people I know with 3 speeds are happy with their choice, the 6 speed does add weight, enough that you can feel it when you pick it up. Also: get the rack (for rolling, not carrying)
