Our neurodesk.org paper was featured in Nature Methods today: nature.com/articles/s4159… Neurodesk is a game-changer for accessible, flexible, and reproducible neuroimaging analysis across computing environments! 🧠💻

🙌 Grateful for all contributors to our #ALS #MND survey, now in its second report! 📊 Key non-motor symptoms: cold limbs (60.4%), appetite loss (29.7%). Evening coldness in weak limbs and shock-like pain reported. 👥 Cold limbs in weaker limbs suggest immobility or autonomic neuropathy. Research is crucial. Interventions may include physiotherapy, passive movements, and gabapentin. 🩹 Pain, often electric or cold, affects 58% of pwALS, mostly moderate. Itching is unique. Nuanced strategies are needed for pain management. 🍽️ Loss of appetite links to mood and extended eating time; medication shows no significant impact. Strategies should prioritize mood improvement and support in eating. Nursing care is crucial. ✨ It's crucial to integrate non-motor symptom management into standard ALS care. Further research is needed for tailored interventions. open access link : tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10… Huge thanks to our funders @mndassoc @alsassociation @DarbyRimmerMND @AliShojaie_KCL @AmmarAlChalabi
