i’ve been trying to go to the gym and gain weight recently after being anorexic basically my entire life and i never realized how difficult it is to eat 2,000 calories a day. you genuinely just have to not stop eating all day. this is ridiculous

@ProudBavaria CK3 boardgame was ok. The trait drawing mechanic was excellent but the game felt like it was “almost” there and didn’t quite give me the multigenerational feel of building a dynasty I was looking for.
The EU game though is fantastic. Really excellent and highly recommend

It is deeply disappointing to witness this delay of several years given that the CK3 and EU boardgames are great fun.
I am very sad for the people that kickstarted this boardgame.
Let's hope it finally gets shipped to the people that backed it!

A Stellaris Infinite Legacy UPDATE!
The shipping of the board game's first wave has been delayed again and is now scheduled to begin in July!
The original delivery was estimated for April 2022!

@EnlightenmentA6 @F_Konopasek @ProudBavaria I quite liked the early game of the release version. It just stagnated in the middle before getting good again in the end game crises. That middle was a painful slog though. The overall game wasn’t bad it just wasn’t right yet. I’m not sure it’s right yet now tbh

All of the Team USA players get $100,000 for winning the Flag Football Classic. They’re normal dudes, working everyday jobs. Huge money to them.
Cool moment for them to beat NFL players in every game. That was a fun tournament. The sport is fun, fast-paced, entertaining, creative rules = fun game play. Plus…it’s football. We love football.

Update: The actual flag football players are pretty impressive.
It'll be interesting to see how the US team for the Olympics is actually picked. Because what's best for the NFL—putting the biggest names in the competition—might conflict with assembling the best roster.

@Clint_Davey1 Cats are so weak that there exists a fanmade mechanic to remove the player controlling them and just turn them into NPC faction played automatically.

Just played Root with my game design class.
It's the best way to teach them about asymmetry.
You have 4 factions who are basically all playing a different game on the same board.
The Vagabond is playing an RPG.
The cats are playing an engine building euro.
The birds are playing a wargame where you have to pre-program your turns.
The Woodland Alliance are playing like the insurgents in a COIN game and spreading sympathy gradually before sparking revolts.
Every time I play this with a group of students they love it. Really shows them what's possible with asymmetric wargame design.

In London you pay £18 for three tiny, bland, inauthentic tacos. In California you pay $6 for three incredible, authentic tacos from a taco truck. In Iowa you pay £12 for a full plate: chimichangas, rice, salad, refried beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream and three tacos.

Gotta put my hand up for being wrong on the Titans trading Sweat before the season, but in my defense it is because I would neeeever have guessed they could get a trade offer of this value.
I’m not surprised at all that Borgonzi said yes to this. I’m shocked it’s a straight player-for-player trade.

The Titans have traded DT T’Vondre Sweat to the Jets for EDGE Jermaine Johnson. Johnson was the 26th overall pick for Saleh’s Jets in 2022. Sweat was the 38th overall pick in 2024. The Titans situation on the edge just got a lot less scary.

Sweet Hannah - the guys / media in NYC fell all over themselves when Mandami bench pressed 135 lbs with a guy helping him do it.
That is the weight I did when I was 13 years old. In my 20’s, I was doing 425 and now at 84, I am benching 225. According to AI, that is more than 97% of 30 year olds in NYC😬
