@heldrida Yeah man
Anecdotally, I’ve been tethering from my phone and the quality is surprisingly good
But all my neighbours are on fibre just taunting me, I know because I can see their wifi names haha
English

@thunkoid Quite central and pricey. But maybe even 5G is not consistent there. Hope you can find a better alternative!
English

@SaulFloresJr Yeah, this was definitely an oversight on my part, fortunately, renting, so I’ll stick out the leas ideal internet for a year or so and consider my options
English

Aw man, that sucks. Well, at least it's not 2G internet.
I remember looking at buying some property, specifically land, and it had the fiber optic infrastructure ready and I'm like, this is the place I want to buy.
As long as your internet doesn't cut off like mine does, for some reason it switches between 2.4 gigahertz and 5 gigahertz. Super annoying, but it is what it is.
English

@heldrida Camden Town, so, depending on definition maybe not central 👀 but pretty close
English

@SaulFloresJr I need the fiber optic installed via public planning permission, so 5g is probably the play
English

@thunkoid Why not Starlink or fiber optic?
Fiber optic speeds are insanely fast.
English

@heldrida Fair, I’m just flabbergasted that my options are 5g+ or old school coaxial cable
For the past 8 years I’ve been on gnetwork/hyperoptic paying £50/month for.. 10x the speeds
English

@thunkoid If that’s the only living option you have, you get the 5G+unlimited data plan, it’s faster. So, I’d say you wouldn’t be an idiot, I know how hard it is to find a place in London.
English

@heldrida I mean, yeah, I can get 5g, but that’s some rural shit, no?
Like, how is that different than just buying a modem and getting a mobile plan?
English

@thunkoid Did you check properly? We have 5G coverage in central London.
English

@llmDestructor Ngl I have been avoiding my inbox, the notifcations are maxed out and I’m scared to look at all the things I’ve been neglecting to look at
Congrats on the gig, let’s grab a drink
English

@thunkoid I am also working in london (2 weeks so far!) ig my dm dropped through the filter, i mentioned it there last week i think. That overlap sounds great lol its been something you have been trying for the past few months! Would be great to grab a drink this month?
English

Yeah, have been in the 9-5 grind again, have moved a couple times London -> Canada -> Yorkshire, settled back in London now though
Indie hacker mode is on pause for.. a while
It is interesting though, I’m the tech lead for growth, which has me working with marketing quite a bit which has overlap with my indie hacking
How are you doing?
Sorry, I downloaded Graviton and then kinda got distracted and never gave feedback 😅
English

@MartinTale Damn
It’s been 28° in my flat and I thought that was bad
I have made small progress by sticking aluminum foil to all the windows
English

Downstairs is also HOT (33°C) 🥵
Still showing up and building Snail Walk 💪😉🐌

Martin Tale@MartinTale
My new office downstairs 🥰 It's sauna upstairs from this heatwave 🥵😅
English

@thunkoid I really like to wander around, walking a lot, especially when I'm traveling
you see more interesting stuff by walking
English

@darekgusto Storypoints are soooo 2010’s
I’ve experienced enough places that crush it without sprints and points to know that you really just need to let people work, and provide support
English

@thunkoid Why no love for story points. 😂 They must have good time with you at the company.
English

@darekgusto I don’t mind heat as much when I’m out and about outside; it’s when trying to work and sleep that kills me
There’s a new stretch of thames side walk that opened up, by Blackfriars bridge, that has been shut for as long as I’ve lived in London
English

@thunkoid I somehow get less steps in the summer when it's hot and I don't feel like going out to sweat all the time.
But I still do, need to get back to shape.
After coming back to London, have you discovered any new places you haven't seen before?
