EU jet fuel is at $230/barrel. Why? It has to demand destruct. And it will most likely have to go higher to achieve that. As I said a month ago, jet fuel is ground zero of this crisis. Other fuels will follow. Here is what it means for Europe. Come mid-April, and certainly into May, expect up to 30% of commercial flights to be cancelled, ceteris paribus. That's my base case. The realised number will depend on how seaborne jet imports evolve. The EU27 & UK import up to 800kbpd of jet fuel, covering up to 58% of total consumption during peak flight season. So EU27+UK consume up to 1.4mbpd of jet (August), never less than 0.9mbpd (January). Some 300kbpd of those barrels came from the Mideast Gulf. Those are now at risk, although some may make it out of the Red Sea - the positive case. The negative? Other marginal imported barrels are at risk if Asian buyers outbid European importers. It's dynamic. It is what it is. Do not be long airlines. And avoid travelling to Asia anytime soon too. Worse there. Like much worse.

Japan’s semiconductor startup Rapidus has announced its ambition to narrow the technology gap with TSMC to within six months at the 1 nm node—marking one of the most aggressive public challenges from Japan’s chip industry in recent years. From a timeline perspective, this implies that Rapidus would need to successfully reach mass production at the 1 nm node between the second half of 2030 and 2031 to fulfill this commitment. On TSMC’s side, both its 1.4 nm and 1 nm processes are planned for Fab 25, located in Taiwan’s Central Taiwan Science Park, with a total investment of approximately US$49 billion. The project includes four advanced fabs. The 1.4 nm node is expected to enter mass production in the second half of 2028, followed by the 1 nm node around 2030, which will also mark the first introduction of High-NA EUV lithography. Rapidus plans to begin development of its 1.4 nm process this year, targeting mass production by 2029—roughly in line with Samsung Electronics. Its first milestone, however, is achieving 2 nm mass production by 2027. Rapidus was founded in 2022 by eight major Japanese corporations, including Sony, Toyota, NTT, and SoftBank, with strong backing from the Japanese government—effectively positioning it as Japan’s national semiconductor champion. However, declaring an intent to catch up with TSMC is not uncommon. The real challenge lies in overcoming two formidable barriers: yield and customer trust. TSMC’s competitive moat is not defined solely by process node leadership, but by decades of accumulated manufacturing expertise, an extensive patent portfolio, and deeply entrenched partnerships with global fabless customers. Most people treat errors like emergencies. Dr. Andrew Huberman says we've got it completely backwards. The neuroscientist explains that one of the core principles of neuroplasticity is counterintuitive: making errors isn't a failure state to avoid. It's actually the entry point to learning itself. "Whenever we're trying to learn something new, if we make an error, we know it feels frustrating. But that state of frustration actually cues up particular brain areas to be more alert." Here's what's happening beneath the surface: the moment you make a mistake, your brain doesn't shut down. It activates. Specific regions become heightened. On your very next attempt, your focus sharpens and your probability of acquiring the new skill goes up regardless of what that skill is. This is why he says to "embrace errors, or even pursue errors" not as ends in themselves, but as deliberate triggers for the brain's plasticity mechanisms. "Why would the brain change at all if it's performing everything perfectly? When you make errors, in the immediate seconds and minutes after those errors, you are in a better position to learn." The implication is significant. If you've been avoiding hard practice, staying in your comfort zone, or only attempting things you know you can get right, you've been inadvertently suppressing the very neurological signal that drives growth. The frustration you feel when you fail isn't a sign to stop. It's the sound of your brain preparing to rewire.

Le fait que T1 🇰🇷 ait dégagé des profits pour la première fois de son histoire est un très bon signal ! C’est un des clubs les plus puissants du monde: - des stars - une fanbase - des succès compétitifs etc… C’est donc important, pour l’écosystème, qu’un club aussi « performant » puisse l’être également financièrement parlant. Cela ne veut pas dire que l’esport finira forcément par être rentable, T1 est un club très singulier et le modèle très compliqué à répliquer.
