A 2026 analysis found that passport revocation policies disproportionately impact minority groups and lower-income Americans — the exact communities Republicans are already targeting through redistricting efforts designed to erase Black representation in Congress. And before you think this stops at child support — ask yourself: if they can revoke your passport for owing $2,500 in child support, what stops them from doing it for student loans? A missed mortgage payment? A repossessed car? Now layer this on top of the SAVE Act, which passed the House in February 2026. That bill requires Americans to show a passport or birth certificate in person just to register to vote. Driver's licenses — even REAL IDs — don't qualify. 9% of voting-age citizens don't have easy access to those documents. So let's connect the dots: ✅Revoke passports from low-income Americans and people of color ✅Require passports to register to vote ✅Simultaneously gut Black representation through gerrymandering
