Thank you to the man who started this epic ride of Knicks winning in the 2020s. Hope he’s able to watch tonight and smile.

New York fell in love with the 1970-73 Knicks because of their likability…in how they played and how they carried themselves. Brunson, KAT, Hart, Bridges, OG, Mike Brown, Shamet, etc —they have that quality. Important part of this historic return to The NBA Finals

Last time the Knicks made it to the NBA Finals in 1999 1) MTA MetroCards were in use (fare was $1.50) 2) Old Yankee Stadium was still around (so was Shea Stadium) 3) “Believe” by Cher was top 100 hit 4) The Greenpoint Twin Water Towers were still around (Greenpoint, Brooklyn)

We took a step ahead this spring, but we are nowhere near where we need to be. I can’t thank the fans enough for the support this year. We will dig in all summer and do everything we possibly can to take the next step. We will grind until we get there. Congrats to the @nyknicks, and best of luck in the Finals.

The Knicks won the first game and Mike Brown went in the press conference and called the Cavs bitches, and then went on to sweep them. Cold game.

Congratulations to the Knicks fans who ride and died with this team for years when they were the worst franchise in all of sports. I saw the pain and dedication first hand. You deserve it wholeheartedly. Protect your fanbase from the sidetalk transplants and gentrifiers please.

I’m thinking a lot about Thibs and Randle and DiVincenzo tonight. Even Hartenstein, though that’s harder with OKC still alive. The guys who helped make all of this possible even if they didn’t see it through to the end. They’re a part of this story I hope isn’t forgotten.
