Now on Sportsmith… Developing a rehab running framework for soft-tissue injuries @harries_simon “The rehab running process needs to achieve 2 things; re-establish competency in locomotion, & recondition to tolerate the volume & intensity of the sport” sportsmith.co/articles/devel…

@leehphysio @tomgoom @PhilCharlesBar @function2fitnes @StuartJWarden @PhysioButler @BScanes @rwilly2003 @MaartenMh @MarinusWinters @DrChrisBarton @runnerphysio @AnnaBoniface @BritTri We tend to use x40 (early stage) - x80 contacts x3 per day (M-directional) during rehab phase + S&C to ⬇️ any deficits in athletes strength / ecc control / RFD / force absorption. Evidence suggests ecc strength + RFD optimisation provides greatest protective mechanism to bone

I am often asked: 'How does loading work to repair tissues?" Free from 2009. Good starter if you aren't familiar with mechanotherapy. Turning loading into repair. ow.ly/BlfJ50E0Rzo

Really nice studay again from @enda_king @afranklynmiller & team - >1000 Level 1 sport, male ACLR's followed for 2 years for reinjury Biomechanical factors (unplanned change of direction, double leg drop jump), not strength or performance ones, are associated with reinjury

Neat study of 25,000 Strava runners finds you get a decent automated estimate of critical speed from training data (fastest 400m, 800m & 5K segments), which in turns gives a good prediction of marathon pace. Turns out my CS, long ago, was 4:41/mile. outsideonline.com/2414931/critic…

What a lovely study this is demostrating how keeping it simple and less can be more when treating neck and shoulder pain... 😍 A 10 min workplace exercise session using 4 simple exercises was just as effective on pain and quality of life as 20 mins! 1/3 ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…

Love this slide by @JMoorephysio adductor magnus essential in hamstring rehab acting as the 5th hamstring, something I’ve lectured on and IMO is vital in hip/groin rehab too #masteringmuscles @sportsmapnet

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to @colingriffin in tonight's webinar. Brilliant content, fact paced and with plenty of practical takeaways. Certainly one to review... a recording will be available on our website in the coming days. Thanks @IMeasureU for their support.

Just for you @rwilly2003 ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/32075157 When the goal task (e.g running) is not sufficient to catalyze some positive adaptations (e.g bone mass). I wonder if we would see a difference if running daily with way less volume
