That's Rollie Free, gas station manager, on this day in 1948 doing 150mph on a Vincent Black Lightning. Covered the first mile in 24 secs, wearing swimming trunks and lying flat to reduce drag. On the return run he swapped the helmet for a swimming cap and went a bit faster. FFS.
