@timsaekoo @genbtc_ Good! I think it will be up to businesses like yours to flip the model. It won’t happen top down. Maybe it’s better for it to be bottom up anyways.

SAAS business models should be illegal. Consumers should never pay a base monthly or annual fee for a service. Consumers should pay for usage, capped at a pre-specified maximum charge limit, defined by each user based on their budget. Hours of TV watched. Number of movies streamed. Number of queries. Number of emails sent. Hours of usage. SAAS companies hide in the dark, quietly adding a bill to your bank account even if you forgot about their service and never use it. If you notice the bill, there’s no way to cancel. You don’t even recognize the charge and can’t find the website, let alone get into your account. Even then, “cancel my account” is buried 13 clicks deep into a purposely clunky and confusing interface. The modern world moves too fast for consumers to deal with this mess. So the money is casually sucked out of their accounts as the rat race accelerates. If we make SAAS billing illegal, consumer debt will be solved overnight. But it’ll never happen. It’s too convenient for the fiat money grabbing machine.
