Just putting this out there: The base PS5 is still fine. You don't really need a Pro model. The Pro is better, yes, but it's far from necessary. Don't let FOMO guide your decisions, especially when the product is multiple hundreds of dollars.

Raise prices to the point where they’re unaffordable for the average Joe and watch the game market collapse. It is that simple.

Play games that are already out. Play games you missed last year, or five years ago, or 20 years ago. Anything other than giving these people your money.

@Pirat_Nation If no one can afford the console then no one can buy the games. Prices keep jacking up but pay is stagnant. People will migrate to PC gaming because the price is about the same now and the games are significantly cheaper. Not to mention the selection of games is much wider.

Analysts are predicting the PS6 could launch at around $1000. "We're quickly moving towards a world in which a $1,000 console will be the norm, and console gaming will become a luxury expenditure."

So if Sony is pulling away from PC/mobile and going back to exclusive to exclusive games, this signals they are going back to the more traditional console model. But how is that supposed to work if the PS6 is $800-1000? That model relies on mass market appeal.

This is an intentional attack on lower/middle class. Can't afford games or hardware? Perfect. You'll pay to stream games, pay for subscriptions, play games on mobile with predatory monetization. They will make more money through a thousand cuts than with a premium product.

This is actually dumb as hell. Sony really sat in a meeting and said “yeah let’s raise the price of the PlayStation 5” like we’re not already getting fucked by EVERYTHING else 💀 Console been out for years and instead of it getting cheaper like it’s supposed to, they said nah let’s run it UP?? We already paying $70 a game, subscriptions, controllers and NOW the console price goes up too?? Corporate Greed.
