here's a little summary for rykunians. solana used to go down. people clowned it for years. but from 2024 to 2025 the chain went through the most violent memecoin cycles, the biggest DEX days in crypto history, and even a liquidation nuke and still stayed up 100%. the “failures” people complained about weren’t the chain dying, but bots spamming, RPCs collapsing, APIs choking, and wallets getting rate limited. the core blockchain kept producing blocks cleanly. what changed? solana rebuilt its networking layer (QUIC, QoS, priority fees), fixed dropped-tx issues, hardened packet handling, and cleaned out the old failure modes that caused the historic outages. then it added client diversity so a single bug can’t take down the network again. pump.fun stress, trump/melania mania, a 19B liquidation. none of it stopped the chain. the outages of 2021 to 2024 were engineering flaws, and they’ve been patched, replaced, or permanently solved. the solana of today isn’t the solana people remember. it's battle-tested, throughput maxed, and running 22 months straight without a halt, under load that would have vaporized its older self. downtime is a meme now.
