@JessicaLTami Say it with me folks. Viscosity, conductivity, ASR & ASR stability vs time, everything while charged, and......radical half life! All assuming no crossover, key to asymetric systems. Everything with a dash of salt and a recorded temperature. Feel you on the poor reporting 🙃

Calling attention to a #scicomm job at XL-batteries.com Love to write and have a technical background? Perhaps want to leave a research track but stay in science? Open to scientific applicants outside our field. Dual role - Grant writing/Communications + lab management

@Chem_Walker @BarchokMatthew @Chemjobber Not to be secretive, but we don't want to give any IP away about our chemistry in a posting. We are looking for smart people vs. specialists, and I encourage anyone interested who has organic synthesis experience to apply.

Anyone have any literature on enzymatic amidations? Would love to find a set of catalytic conditions and it seems like an enzyme might be the ticket.

@theericvictor Yeah, exactly. And that makes sense, right? Sometimes you need coordination or some other effect that an electrode won't give. I and everyone knows that they are different in subtle ways, but because of that no one really explicitly states it. I need to quote the wording though..

@tjsisto Ah ok, I thought you were asking about it this way around. I would suspect that if the reaction only works with the chemical redox agent then it has to be non-innocent and is involved in the mechanism and it isn’t a straight ET process.

Anyone know a reference explicitly saying that chemical oxidation or reduction can lead to different products than electrochemical means? Explicitly stating that they can be different? Lots of tangential wordings but no explicit statements. #chemistry @BaranLabReads

@theericvictor @Chemjobber @BaranLabReads That review sort of hints at the opposite. States an electrode will always be cleanest since reagents are non-innocent. Also, maybe I missed it, but it never really says that a reagent will work but an electrode won't.

@theericvictor @Chemjobber @BaranLabReads Thanks! Didn't word my original question well though. I really need one where reagent works but electrode doesn't. Lots of examples making a reagent electrochemically (basically a shuttle). Assume it is because bare electrode doesn't work? However, haven't seen it explicitly said

#chemtwitter Hey everyone. Water for an HPLC. Does MilliQ work? If not, does distilled work? Double distilled? Or do we actually have to buy Fisher HPLC grade water?

@sebspain Thanks! Seems obvious, but none of the reps would admit it...

@tjsisto I‘ve used both MilliQ and Double Distilled Water for all kind of systems (analytical, semiprep and prep, even UPLC) without noticeable issues.

To apply, check our website xl-batteries.com//contact-us. Our goal is a larger than lab prototype (think kgs and liters). Job includes helping with small scale materials/electrolyte compatibility & solution optimization, along with designing and building the large battery. @chemjobber

@profjasti promoted to full Professor. Very much deserved. Congrats Ramesh. My time in lab was amazing. I learned how to be a scientist and conduct research, and made lifelong friends. You always put education first, which shows in the amazing researchers that come from your lab
