In 2025 the space wolf army box became the best selling 40K product of ALL TIME while the culture warriors on this app cried about black space wolves not being lore accurate. Which was also wrong. They have good meta + sick minis

Yeah, because most buyers are meta slaves. It’s not like GW doesn’t realize that the bulk of their sales actually come from collectors, painters, and casual players. Good effort though.

Speaking about lore matters, you died on the hill of Chaplains, being always helmeted despite my telling you over and over that it's optional.

the entire franchise exist solely because it has lore that allows it to exist,
the miniatures look the way they do because they are described by lore,
the games are based on characters and world building of the lore,
all art, armor, vehicles, cities, planets, gods, characters, from all species and cultures human or otherwise in 40k, is because of the lore,
as well as the plot its self and the scenes of events in the franchise are the way they are from lore.
with out lore you dont have sanguineous, horus, or any other primarcs and their stories or their sons, you dont have the chaos gods or the emperor of mankind, or eldar, necron or tyranids, or anything else.
with out lore there is no warhammer 40k,
the stories and world building from the lore is what allows the world of 40k and everything in it to exist,
and if you dont like 40k lore or reject its lore continuity,
than why pretend to be a 40k fan?

I’m a tourist that’s played war games for 35+ years. I’ve likely spent multiple 10s of thousands of dollars over that time. I’ve played leagues, campaigns + tourneys. Even won a few. I can tell you ppl who play most likely buy minis based on meta not the lore.

@tlark8 You have to be a giant fucking tourist to think mini sales are anything without the lore. A GW is a wildly overpriced toy compared to a real model tank. A Space Marine tank is super cool and people will pay what they ask.

@mobius_b This is not a lore centric franchise because you are not reenacting famous battles in Warhammer 40K, nor are you having to carefully align your models with reference data on their livery and time period.

Do you like losing every game you play? This is just more proof of your projection calling actual gamers tourists while likely not even understating how the game works. Even if you hate the lore you should still know that intercessors are superior on the tabletop.

I remember this box and still have some RTOB1 marines. I agree with this sentiment. What hooked me at first was the art. Especially the old gritty black and white art. The minis were definitely my main focus but the old school art was a close second.

Lore vs miniatures is trending! Interesting warhammer debate. It was art and design first. If the art/design was lame no one would care about the minis or lore. This is what I saw on shelf when I started playing and there was nothing like it. That’s what grabbed you.
