But then the presence of 🔥rocoto chili (basically scotch bonnet) on many a table contradicts Josh's point of S.America...

@InvisiblesMuros It is in Peru and in many places in Venezuela. I love " picante" on everything. Picante de culo de Bachaco, en Amazonas y Bolívar, de suero en Lara y en Oriente, Barlovento y Vargas con las empanadas, hot dogs etc. Picante de Aji chirel. And many more "picante " sauces.
