One person's actions does not at all justify the suspension of immigration benefits for all Afghan nationals. We should refrain from scapegoating and tainting an entire immigrant community even if Trump is indulging in it. This sort of racial profiling creates uncertainty to Afghans who helped the US military at great risk to their lives.

Scott let’s not let common sense get in the way of good old fashioned outrage fueled social media engagement.
But yeah- it feels weird to be accused of “insider trading” when I never actually trade. I bought stocks in late 2021 and haven’t touched them since. My current portfolio is worth about $24k TOTAL. It has always been around that amount throughout my entire time in Congress. This line of attack is a strange one. Thank you for pointing out how absurd it is.

How do we rule out the most obvious explanation, that Crenshaw is good at investing and he focuses on it?
A small portfolio such as his, with one good pick (NVDA, Tesla, etc.) gives you a big percentage gain, but it isn't much money, and takes no real skill or special insight. Many of my followers beat his gains.
If Crenshaw invested in specific stocks after getting special information, let's see some examples. The "He invested well" attack is pissing me off.

Dan Crenshaw Did It Again: Study Finds He Ranks Among Top Stock Traders in Congress | Wendell Husebo, Breitbart News Establishment Republican Dan Crenshaw (TX) again ranked among the best at trading stocks in Congress, a study by Unusual Whales found Tuesday. Crenshaw sat in 2024 on the House Intelligence and Energy and Commerce Committee, prime slots to gain key bits of information for both personal and legislative development. “You have no way to better yourself” as a congressperson, he previously said about his stock trades. Crenshaw ranked in the top 15 of congressional members who traded stocks last year (2024), up from the top 25 best stock traders in Congress in 2023 with a portfolio increase of over 34 percent. The Texas congressman’s stock portfolio in 2024 spiked over 60 percent, according to a weighted percent change calculated by Unusual Whales: Crenshaw, who often wears an eye patch, does not appear ashamed of trading stocks while in Congress. His trades in 2022 were not as successful as in previous or future years, although he beat the S&P 500 by over three percent. In 2021, Crenshaw’s portfolio was in the top five of all members of Congress. Crenshaw did not immediately respond with comment about why he is consistently among the top stock traders in Congress, whether he believes members of Congress should use their position to repeatedly beat the S&P 500, and if he intend to push party leaders to pass an anti-stock trading bill. This makes me sad.
When I initially saw TPUSA was getting all the established "big names" coming to their events to fill in for Charlie, I knew it was going to be crap.
Charlie attracted people for all the reasons these people can't and don't.
There's a reason it was Charlie who was reaching out to young people. There's a reason they showed up and listened.
This is not the way.
