We've spent the past year at SRS putting every major model head-to-head, not to outsource the work, but because anyone running a serious operation right now has to know what's actually useful and what's just noise. Claude is the one that consistently rose to the top. What are you all using?

@Kappaemme1926 1000% - I spent about 50 hrs/wk for that month building a new product (SME agent system). That is why I went on this journey to avoid vendor lock-in and reduce cost. I want the freedom to build at a reasonable cost.

@pmarca Scarce and valuable = top-tier engineers, which are notoriously hard to identify. Negative ROI for engineers not in that category who are using agentic tools. Painful lessons ahead, the market won't lie and ultimately confirm.

When something becomes abundant and cheap, someone else becomes scarce and valuable.

Both Gemini and Grok are underrated. I used to champion Gemini for a while, but lately I've been very happy with Grok, especially since the Grok 4.20 release with multi-agent. And now we have Grok 4.3!

@mark_k I wired 4.20 into Cursor. It’s hard to overstate the value of groks ability to reason over business intent, software and software design.

Grok is becoming so incredibly good at information search it's insane. Grok can even find obscure posts on X that you don't remember precisely. A vague description is enough. Especially the multi-agent Expert mode excels at this.

My current AI setup: - SuperGrok for all daily tasks. Research, writing, assistance. It's amazing with Grok 4.20 - Codex for coding. The best coding AI currently, and the desktop app is great. These two cover all of my needs. I just unsubscribed Gemini. What's your setup?

@mark_k Agreed - try asking grok and chatgpt for an LLM recommendation based on a specific task... The difference became obvious to me.

If you dislike wokeness and "The Message", Grok is really your only choice for AI. Grok aims to be neutral and balanced, and it doesn't gaslight you.

@chamath Classification is the answer. A chat has a context, some of it is specific and only useful to the code/task it belongs to. You need to classify, for each chat--think scope of usefulness.

This may be a dumb question but I’ll ask it here anyways: I can’t find a good way for my various AI chats to automatically sync its conversation history into a structured knowledge base. So that as I update various chats from time to time and refine context, my knowledge base automatically grows with this new info.

Big weather system coming through. Here's what we know so far.

Like everyone else, I looked at the shooting of Renee Nicole Good. From several angles. And frame by frame. I watched the reverse lights go out. The weapon leave its holster. I looked at the before footage. The aftermath. I listened carefully to the audio. I heard the legal scholars commentary. The politicians. Etc. But most of all, I watched it as a pair of amped up Federal Agents with a car and driver defying my orders in a tense situation. And then I watched it as a freaked out American female in fight-or-flight model with a terrifying man trying to force open my driver side door who may have barely noticed the other man in front of my car about to end my life. ——- My thoughts. This was always going to happen. A bunch of political people we don’t know playing out a drama of Sanctuary Cities, voting strategies, refugee designations, border enforcement, immigration scams, etc. Sooner or later, given enough time, a loving widower and single dad will also pick up a gun and find a 2A solution to his grief over the Surgeon who “transitioned” his only brainwashed child while he was working two jobs in a murder suicide. Someone wearing a Candace t-shirt calling for America-First will shoot up a Pro-Israel rally in Florida chanting about “Noticing”, Nick Fuentes and wanting their country back. Or a person will spray-paint “Never Again” on a Cybertruck and drive it into a Michigan crowd screaming “From The River To The Sea!” Etc. We are being set, like wind up toys, to tear each other apart and ourselves apart. my own head has been filled with so many slogans and so much hate for you by so many different people no matter who you are. We are all in this low grade revolution.
