The Reds have been terrific this year at winning close games. An area where they've really struggled is games like tonight — games that they're trailing and end up really getting away from them. They're about to lose their sixth game by 5+ runs. It's a big reflection of them missing veteran long relief. Starting pitching prospect Jose Franco and Kyle Nicolas have been the Reds' primary long relievers this year. The Reds have had trouble staying in some of those long relief games.
