@Beervana I always wondered was beyond the bed and the bathroom. Maybe this makes it better “beyönd beer”. Now, get off my lawn (shaking my fist at the clouds).

This is a minor complaint so picayune as to warrant a tweet rather than a blog post, but here it is: the phrase “beyond beer” really bugs me. There’s beer and there’s other stuff. Wine, calvados, blue raspberry hard seltzer. These are not beyond beer, they are not beer at all.

@drvolts If there’s 4 cars then, you just got to figure it out. The joke is that Mercedes/BMWs have somehow built-in right of way.

@drvolts There are no four-way stops in Germany. Most neighborhood intersections are unmarked. The rule is “rechts vor links” (right before left), so the car on the right always has the right of way. Makes you slow down but if there’s no one keep going.

@NateSilver538 @ForecasterEnten Weight of a gallon of H2O? Convert between any of those units quickly in your head. Now do the same in a metric country. M in kilometer? Weight of a liter of H2O? Convert in your head? People in metric countries will do that no problem.

@ForecasterEnten Screw the metric system. Take Fahrenheit, for instance. 0 means cold and 100 means hot, that's awesome.

@NateSilver538 @ForecasterEnten Agree F vs C is a toss up. But all the other units, holy crap! My test, grab 10 people off the street in US and ask: how many feet/yards in a mile? How many cups in a gallon? Weight of a cup of H2O (or any aqueous liquid one encounters in life).

@chrislhayes To be clear, throwing in days off for Eid, Hannuka, Yom Kippur, Diwali etc would be great. In DE, the time between 12/25 and New Years is called “in between the years” and just about everything shuts down. It is basically expected that you do not do work.

@chrislhayes Growing up in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, lots of Thu holidays (benefits of living in a catholic-protestant split state) were the best. everybody who could would take the Friday off. We all need to take more vacation days without worrying that somebody looks at you funny.

Feel like there should be more Thursday holidays that create four-day weekends. Like one Thanksgiving a quarter. Just throwing it out there.
