- 👏👏👏👏👏👏 @AlexCrawfordSky This is how you report Israeli attempts to demonise the journalists they murder. The contrast with @BBCNews extraordinary. @SkyNews rightly leading with the story.

NATO members are obliged to support one another if attacked, not to join wars of choice. That stipulation was made at the demand of the US, which also insisted that the commitment be territorially limited. “The treaty does not cover the entire world,” said Dean Acheson. “It applies only to the North Atlantic area.” He made clear that this had been the key American condition. “We deliberately avoided any implication that we were undertaking a global military commitment.” The Senate, worried about being dragged into European colonial wars, had threatened to refuse ratification unless the limitations were explicit. As John Foster Dulles put it: “If it were made global in scope, it would not be acceptable to the United States.” Despite all this, the only time that NATO has gone to war was indeed out of area, at the request of the US after 9/11.

I’m not a “high priest of nuclear theology” (whatever that is) but can still explain the purpose of the UK’s nuclear deterrent; it is to stop your country - Russia - from engaging in nuclear blackmail against us.
Pavel Podvig@russianforces

The UK would have arguably been much better off in many ways had they ditched their program ca. 2007, when they discussed it. One needs to be a high priest of nuclear theology to explain (still unconvincingly) what's the purpose of UK nuclear weapons is.

As a British MP I can tell you what “showing up” looks like. It looks like 457 British soldiers who died in Afghanistan. NATO has only ever gone to war for one country. Yours. The question isn’t whether NATO showed up, it’s whether we forgive you for pretending otherwise.
Department of State@StateDept

PRESIDENT TRUMP: NATO wasn’t there for us. We send billions of dollars to them every year to protect them. We would have always been there for them. But based on their actions, I guess we don’t have to be, do we? Why would we be there for them if they’re not there for us?

I will again not be endorsing Reform in the upcoming holyrood elections. During the General Election I pointed out the number of independence candidates within Reform especially within its leadership ranks. After speaking to people within Reform I was assured these candidates would be weeded out and they are a pro UK party. This has not happened in fact there’s more independence candidates than there was in the General Election. Their stance is still they are a pro UK party but are not ruling out a second referendum so I cannot back Reform in Scotland and never will.

@GrahamSpiers I'd have to agree Lundin is spectacular. That 18th green has seen its share of three putts! The vibe is very similar to Hopeman.

I can help you, sir I can say the following because I am not in the US Putin has compromat on Trump that will end Trump's career overnight He used this to force Trump to make decisions against America's best interests Simple as that Sadly
Dr. Fred Hoffman, Lieutenant Colonel (ret.)@InfoAgeStrategy

I remain mystified by President Trump's continual deference to Vladimir Putin, who: - Is a dictator - Is a terrorist - Hates the West in general and the U.S. in particular I have no plausible explanation for President Trump's inexplicable behavior towards Putin (the aggressor) and Zelensky (the victim).

Starmer didn't destroy the relationship. He tried very hard to maintain it, even when he should have told Trump where to go. There is only 1 person responsible for the ending of the "special relationship" & that's Trump, who cannot & should not be trusted.
Queen Natalie@TheNorfolkLion

TRUMP: “I DON’T KNOW IF WE’LL BE THERE FOR THE UK ANYMORE” Donald Trump just questioned whether the US will still be there for the UK in the future: "We're always going to be there. Well, at least we were. I don't know about anymore, to be honest with you." Keir Starmer has destroyed the special relationship that Britain and America have shared for decades.

The sad truth is that even with the protection of their carrier groups the effectiveness of these vessels is significantly curtailed in the drone and modern missile age. Until countermeasures are developed they are vulnerable.

🇺🇸⚡️– BREAKING: Pentagon reports that the aircraft carrier Ford is facing problems much deeper than just the incidents of fire and laundry room. There are concerns about the capabilities of the Ford aircraft carrier's systems, especially the aircraft launch system and radars. Source: Bloomberg.
