@JeauxDirtee @Tintin1781 @RepKeithSelf The answer is make it harder to actually get a license. Make the traffic laws more than just a simple annoyance of a fine. Punish people for breaking the laws that are there so they don’t do it again. If surveillance is your solution you are a moron.

@Tintin1781 @RepKeithSelf I asked what could be done to quell the large amount of unnecessary deaths on the road besides something like that. No one’s had answers besides the typical “deport the brown people”.

@mnwildPR Well, that's a pretty good strategy. Injure one important Wild player per game and that should take care of it. They certainly won't win based on skill, so gotta come up with something.

@jschlime @ByAZuniga Did we watch the same game? Michigan had double their shots and more high danger shots the difference was a goalie that has yet to lose in regulation and proved why. What ended them was a 2ot defensive breakdown in leaving a point wide open.

@ByAZuniga Naurato ain't it, simple as that. Some of the sloppiest passing and handling of the season. Denver was faster, sharper, and better coached.

Michigan hockey is living in a nightmare that will persist for at least another year. The Wolverines, one of the most successful programs in the sport and one that has reached the Frozen Four on 10 occasions since its last national title, saw their championship drought extended. This time, as in 2022, the decision came in overtime at the hands of Denver, which tied the game with less than three minutes left in regulation and then won it with 7:25 left in the second extra period.

Just got verification from YouTube that showing people how to bypass age verification will result in a strike. Since Microsoft is likely tying this into their Microsoft account requirements, it means the days of showing people how to bypass it are over. Big tech wants your data and they are willing to erase you to make sure they get it.

@LinkedInLunat1c I work in corporate America and because of state rules, I get like 10 sick days a year. I only use 2-3 sick days a year when I'm really tired and sick, but if I were to use all 10 days every year then you're manager is going to be pissed and not give you a raise.

@tom_talented99 @JanOrszulik @Onepeg Thats what I mean if Epic improved the store's front end it would be better and not as many people would complain. Instead Epic has left the the launcher in a poor state fore years with little improvement. The back end is not the issue

This severely diminishes valve’s value add. VoIP service, matchmaking, secure payment processing, a multitude of other turnkey backend services. EVERY indie dev I have ever spoken with or that has spoken up about the “30%” has stated it is well worth alternatives.
Seth Dirks@SirDustyDirks

Valve: 350 employees Epic Games: 4,000 employees Valve: $17B annual revenue
Epic Games: $5-6B Valve charges devs 30% of their revenue for simply listing their game. Epic Games charges devs 0% revenue share on the first $1,000,000 Valve is one of the greediest companies in gaming. You cannot be pro valve and be pro developer at the same time.

@UnrealSensei @JanOrszulik @Onepeg My points are DEVS WONT CARE BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING TO THE PLACE MORE PEOPLE ARE SO THEY CAN MAKE MORE MONEY. Steam has the players because of the qol services and early access. His whole point is stupid because epic could improve their services and more people would use them.

@JanOrszulik @Onepeg Epics services are a launcher that is buggy and horribly designed and not even custom profile pictures. We are talking basic qol shit nobody but valve does steam has a service that lets friends join you remotely and play locally with you through their service it’s not a comp

@Onepeg And you drastically overestimate it. First of all "secure payment processing", is that suppose to imply Epic's payment isn't secure? That would be absurd. For rest, Epic offers whole Epic Online Services (for free) onlineservices.epicgames.com/?lang=en-US What Valve does is not "matchmaking"...

@DescentOverload @sean_gause You do get a giant portion of valves success is because they have 2 top 10 esports and have built their platform around making playing with your friends in those games easier. Also early access on steam is 100% better for the industry because indie is the heart of gaming.

@sean_gause I guess it would be better for the competitors to rely on massively profiting from other companies work, only employ hundreds of people, do very little investment into the gaming industry, and just hoard most of their profits, so act as mostly a leech like Valve is.

Think of it this way. It’s two separate cows. One costs you $800 and you sell for $1000. Now the next day there’s a cow for $1100 and you buy and sell for $1300. The only way the $100 you invest would be a loss is if it’s borrowed. Otherwise, it’s no different than the $800 you initially invested. Just more investment. One day you invest $800 to make $1000. The next day you invest $1100 to make $1300. But you shouldn’t subtract the $100 you included. Ultimately at the end, you’ve invested $800+100 and you’re left with $1300. $1300-$800-$100= $400

@HateBear89 @askboutfortune @CharlesNF_no2 @NoContextHumans See I can accept arguments for 200 300 and 400 because it’s following different concepts of profit and being consistent with the math but specifically taking that 100 from 200 makes no sense because your taking the hundred from an early transaction but not the other 200.

It seems intuitive. But the $100 you add isn’t a loss unless you borrowed it. It’s an investment. Think of it this way. You start with $800 and sell for $1000. Now put that $200 profit in a box. You have your original $800. Now you need $300 more to buy for $1100. You take that out of pocket and buy for $1100. Then you sell for $1300. Put the $200 profit from this into the box. You’re left with $1100 again. Thats the $800 initial capital plus the extra $300 you added. So you break even on those and now you have a nice $400 in your box which is all profit. I hope this helps it make sense.

@askboutfortune @CharlesNF_no2 @NoContextHumans Why would you subtract the 100 he adds to the 1000 when he makes 200 back on that amount his profit would be money made right so that’s 300. 200 from 1 200 from 2 and used 100 extra so 200+200-100=300

There isn’t just one way to view it From $800, made $1000 ($200 profit) Added $100 (only lose so far) to $1000 = $1100 (bought second cow) Sold for $1300 ($200 profit) $200 - $100 = $100.00 Your calc treats as two separate transactions with two separate capital Mine treats as just one transaction with same capital from beginning, only adding the extra $100

Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert@CrimsonDesert_·
We would like to address questions regarding the use of AI in Crimson Desert. During development, some 2D visual props were created as part of early-stage iteration using experimental AI generative tools. These assets helped us rapidly explore tone and atmosphere in the earlier phases of production. However, our intention has always been for any such assets to be replaced, following final work and review by our art and development teams, with work that aligned with our quality standards and creative direction. Following reports from our community, we have identified that some of these assets were unintentionally included in the final release. This is not in line with our internal standards, and we take full responsibility for it. We also acknowledge that we should have clearly disclosed our use of AI. While these tools were primarily used during early production, with the expectation that these assets would be replaced prior to release, we recognize that this does not excuse the lack of transparency. We sincerely apologize for these oversights. We are currently conducting a comprehensive audit of all in-game assets and are taking steps to replace any affected content. Updated assets will be rolled out in upcoming patches. In parallel, we are reviewing and strengthening our internal processes to ensure greater transparency and consistency in how we communicate with players moving forward.
