Park Ave. got its name because a century ago it had a literal park in the median. Now, at last, the park is coming back (from E.46th to E.57th). With reduction of two lanes of traffic, there will be wider sidewalks, an urban forrest in the median, benches, space for cultural programming, potentially a bike lane etc. There are two final designs and you can vote on which you prefer. The super speeders bill is the exact opposite of a "money grab".
Most speeding is committed by a small number of repeat offenders. The bill would limit their speed, making it impossible for an individual vehicle to get more than 16 speed camera tickets.

The idea that Tesla is alone in the race to develop end-to-end vision system for self-driving and delivering into consumer vehicles is officially dead.

I tested Xpeng's VLA 2.0 in the streets of Beijing, and it is comparable to my experience of daily driving Tesla FSD v14.
Xpeng is not charging $100 a month to drive this. It is inlcuded in its higher-trim vehicles and it already caught the attention of Volkswagen, which is going to integrate into its own vehicles - something Tesla hasn't been able to do despite trying.

Can confirm, big news: Council Speaker Julie Menin will join Mamdani in calling tomorrow for a billion dollar tax hike on hedge funds/major law firms, rolling back some of a tax cut that was enacted by Cuomo during Trump 1.
Menin had resisted any calls for tax increases and is a Hochul ally.
