$NBIS is NOT cheap, highly speculative, and yes you are so freaking early, maybe too early for such a young company. Shit, maybe you’re late for the stock for the next 3 years 🤷🏻‍♂️ Many IPOs (often 50–60%+) lose money or lag significantly. Only a minority (e.g., ~16–22%) more than double, driven by outliers. Performance is worse in “hot” issuance years (e.g., late 1990s dot-com, 2020–2021) due to overoptimism and poorer-quality companies coming public. It holds across regions (U.S., Australia, India, global samples) and is concentrated in smaller, less profitable, or high-growth-hype companies. Stay prudent ⚠️

The best time to own a growth stock is when it’s expensive and nobody believes in the thesis. Not when everyone is clamoring about how cheap it is.

$NBIS Asset Lite Business Model and its Significance I wanted to read through the news release again today and highlight some key comments: nebius.com/newsroom/nebiu… A few things stick out here: "The model brings additional capacity to Nebius customers, and expands the availability of value-added AI compute globally at a time when demand continues to outstrip supply" In Q1 Shareholder Letter, it was made clear they have record pipeline generation, and one of the key limiting factors is the availability of compute. In this revenue stream, $NBIS partners with bare metal providers and helps to take their capacity to market, with their customers who are in their backlog, and provide revenue sharing to these partners. $NBIS gets to onboard the client as soon as possible capturing as much value in its early stages to allow their customers to grow in their ecosystem, while their partners in exchange allow them to reach revenue faster. What's compelling here is $NBIS software margins are significantly higher than their bare metal offering, 50-100% value add on top of bare metal, and so what this means is even if they did an even split, which I doubt is the case, they would still basically be making bare metal margins without the depreciation of assets involved. Arkady has said this over and over again: "Demand is so high, coming from so many directions, whatever is built is consume. Demand is totally objective, everybody sees how much new value, this thing generates. Huge huge industrial next step" youtube.com/watch?v=w2BvO1… Intro 20:14 "They don't think in these terms. They think agentic. They are usually multi cloud, they don't care actually where compute is happening, where different services from where different services are consumed, because they don't do it manually. $NBIS has coined the term "Capacity pool" which is a pool of their: 1. Their owned data centres 2. Their colocations, and now, 3. Their partner's data centres What this tells me is, $NBIS has a good problem which is too much demand, and not enough supply, and this business model helps to capture that value as early in the life cycle as possible. In the news release, it states: The company has already entered into initial arrangements under this asset-light model. My speculation is that $NBIS is partnering with $IREN. And if you look at a company like $META, who has reported selling excess compute, you're going to have to realize that $META is well behind $NBIS. $NBIS is an AI native hyperscaler in the making with an AI first cloud already in production with a thriving program growing at warp speed. People are underestimating the operating leverage of this asset lite model. If you think this is bearish, you are an absolute moron.

$NBIS providing software as a service to other neoclouds in NVIDIA’s ecosystem probably does three things at once: 1) Improves Nebius’s margins by adding asset-light revenue. 2) Improves other neoclouds’ margins by helping them generate more revenue from every GPU. 3) In doing so, lowers the cost of capital for both Nebius and the neoclouds, accelerating the scaleout of the entire NVIDIA ecosystem. What makes this especially interesting is the timing. The divergence between NVIDIA and the hyperscalers has never been wider, with most hyperscalers doubling down on their own hardware and trying to undercut NVIDIA. NVIDIA cannot risk being left in no man’s land, with enormous compute capacity and strong models, but basically no inference. If the new Nebius model is part of NVIDIA’s plan to strike back by hyperscaling its cloud sphere, then Act II could be the international scaling of NVIDIA-backed neoclouds, possibly starting with Japan and South Korea, where NVIDIA already has a deep footprint. This means Nebius has likely gained some unexpected “political” tailwinds from the increasingly tense relationship between NVIDIA and the hyperscalers, which should accelerate its scaleout. (Not investment advice.)

The frenzy around Kimi K3 highlights how well timed $NBIS' acquisition of Eigen AI was. As open-source models become more capable and are released at an accelerating pace, the ability to optimize them quickly and serve them efficiently becomes a major competitive advantage for any inference platform. Eigen AI brings exactly that. In a recent Kimi K2.6 benchmark, Eigen led the field with 265 output tokens per second vs. 224 for the next-best provider, CoreWeave, despite using B200 GPUs rather than the newer GB300 platform. This benchmark relates to an earlier version of the model, so we still need to see how it performs on K3, but the direction is telling. Token Factory’s value will depend not only on offering the latest models, but also on running them faster, more efficiently, and with better economics than competing platforms. Kimi K3 is exactly the kind of release that makes the strategic value of the Eigen acquisition even clearer. $NBIS has been saying from the beginning that the market would move in this direction.

A few weeks ago I started tracking $NBIS official press releases by day of the week, trying to spot when they typically drop news. A pattern showed up: Mondays = deals, Tuesdays = acquisitions, Wednesdays = finance/product, Thursdays = conferences, Fridays = admin only. Fridays were typically leadership appointments, listing requirements, fillings, annual meeting results & shareholder votes. Today's PR was a $775M secured debt facility. Dropped on a Friday. First time real finance news has landed on the "admin" day. Could mean nothing. Could mean something. Fun to pontificate about.
