The usual caveats. @CSIS. @Missile_Defense. You’re probably muted.

My new article in Strategic Studies Quarterly: The Missile Defense Review has many strengths but is insufficiently aligned with the National Defense Strategy, falling short of the central metric of sufficiency: complex & integrated air & missile attack. airuniversity.af.edu/Portals/10/SSQ…

@ToddHarrisonDC An important piece of context related to the $185 B is that it is apparently over ten years, not five.

The #GoldenDome cost figure Gen. Guetlein revealed today ($185B) is roughly in line with Architecture 1 in the paper I published last September.

I expect Bloomberg and other publications to extensively cover how Iran lost the plot by developing and producing Ballistic Missiles that cost more than the direct attack munitions and other weapons that are defeating many of them along with their launchers.

Another Iranian missile has been destroyed by @CENTCOM. Note that the missile is in the process of being erected, not yet in a vertical position.

Is the U.S. running out of missiles? Not exactly—but heavy use of precision weapons in conflicts from Ukraine to Iran strains stockpiles. @CSISDefense experts @McGinnJerry & @tomkarako discuss what it will take to strengthen U.S. munitions production: youtube.com/watch?v=F4MiFl…

@JakubPalowski The quantity of CUAS/SHORAD will always be insufficient to the demand signal. It is not possible to be everywhere all the time. Since you mention M-SHORAD, it had a resurgence around 2017, but its funding has fallen in recent years.

@tomkarako yet it seems - from various sources - that US has deployed an insufficient amount of VSHORAD/CUAS to the Gulf prior to start of the operation. If Merops reportedly is being deployed only now, what about Apaches, additional Avengers, M-SHORAD?
