We should encourage each other more - 'nice work' is my go-to. Also: semiconductor lover, snow tire enthusiast, photo shooter. Bikes are awesome. NYG fan.

I went through this years ago in NW Denver. Could never get the lawn consistently green regardless of water/fertilizer quantity.
Found a low spot on spring, ripped up the sod, packed it with topsoil to level, and that sod took and was the greenest patch for the rest of the year. And every year thereafter.
Then a neighbor re-sodded their entire yard: ripped up the old stuff, amended the soil, new sod, and it's the healthiest patch of grass on the block.
Which is a wildly long way of saying you need to address the rock the grass is trying to grow on.

@NolanAnalyst Cast who you want, and let the movie speak for itself. It’s your concept as a filmmaker, and Good luck. I don’t understand any other take prior to watching the film.

For Christopher Nolan, Lupita Nyong’o was always his choice to play Helen of Troy, a role that required acting chops as much as physical beauty.
“The strength and the poise were so important to the character of Helen. And Lupita makes it look effortless. I’m sure there’s a tremendous amount of discipline and training that goes into projecting that kind of poise and feeling the emotion bubbling beneath the character, the layers of the character right there underneath. She’s just an incredible person to work with, and I was absolutely desperate for her to do the part.”

hours spent in setup/troubleshooting should never eclipse the number of pages printed. but that's where i'm at right now. and i hate myself for still fighting with it and not just throwing it out the window.
you are a printer. you have one job. unfortunately that one job entails 2 gigs worth of apps to send telemetry back to hq to entice me to buy subscriptions.
and i might happily pay for subscriptions, but there's no telemetry to report because you can't f*cking print a single page without 4 hours of troubleshooting.
i'm done.

This thing is the worst.
I printed a document out an hour ago. Tried to print something else out just now. Printer has apparently lost network connection and crashed, and can't be shut down via the power button.
Do a hard reboot via yanking out the power cable then held it by it's ankles from the roof.
Now I'm getting an error message that it can't connect to the network. Which is hilarious because the other 42,000 devices I have haven't blinked.
So let's have the HP "smart" app do a diagnostic.
Cool. No issues found. Now let's print a test page.
Would you look at that. Now the HP app apparently can't find the printer it just gave a clean bill of health to.
I've hurled more expletives at this thing than it's printed pages for me.
I'm done.

It's embarrassing how bad modern printers are. @HP I'm looking directly at you. Had an 8600 for 10+ years and spent a gazillion dollars on ink refills. It was incredible until the printhead went and I couldn't source an OEM replacement. Replaced it w/ a new 9125 three months ago.
And wow. It's awful. I've spent more time doing IT-related nonsense w/ the 9125 than I did in the decade I owned the 8600.
Changing the paper size shouldn't, and didn't previously - require a driver update, declining a monthly ink subscription I'm already a member of, drilling down 4 levels deep into settings and properties of 3 separate applications.
And I get that you want to sell me a monthly ink subscription, and everything is tailored towards that. Great, let's do it. But I can't be part of your monthly recurring revenue if. the. printer. isn't. printing.
It's really unbelievable how ridiculous this is.

@SpeedSportLife Ewwww!
It's like they took styling cues from the Nisan Z. Gross.

@GreatRober49687 @retweets_9ja @Vendorsrepost @GreatRober49687 I've been banging the drum re: analog for what seems like forever. Legit appreciate that twitter bubbled this up for me to see.

@SpeedSportLife Haha! Dude, I'm a huge Transformers fan, so this one was personal

@SanctumScoops @Sksj002 For better or worse, I read this as - DC did DC things and got DC results 🤣
English

@Sksj002 Feeling bad for DC, spent so much money, still didn't get the desired result.

Did you know Captain America’s jaw in The Avengers was actually fake for one scene?
After filming The Avengers, Chris Evans immediately started shooting Snowpiercer and had grown a full beard for the role. But Marvel needed him back to film the iconic shawarma post-credits scene.
The problem? He couldn’t shave without ruining continuity for Snowpiercer.
So Marvel created a silicone prosthetic chin for Cap.
If you rewatch the scene, you’ll notice Cap is mostly turned away from the camera, and when he faces forward, he casually rests his fist under his chin to hide the prosthetic.
Meanwhile, Justice League spent $25M digitally removing Henry Cavill’s moustache and the internet still hasn’t recovered.

@lookingglass401 @WillManso It's like he gets a hall pass from the rules of physics from time to time - and I'm here for it.
English

@WillManso Close quarters possession he’s the best to ever do it. Not to mention probably the best at a few other things too
English

This is just ridiculous by Messi. I’ve watched it 20 times already.
Will Manso@WillManso
Now Messi with an incredible assist to add to his goal in this first half. Unreal.

@AlexForbesOps I don't know how to say this without being super weird. But you had me as soon as I saw how his cords were wound 🤣

English

@Mike_M_Klotz My OCD appreciates this about a billion percent.
(Also, nothing monster truck related should ever be held indoors. My eardrums have PTSD and just bled in solidarity as I watched that on mute)

For my birthday this year my 97 year old Grandpa who is starting to struggle with memory, remembered it was my birthday and gave me a call. He recalled the last time I visited with the kids and the the things we did.
I cannot tell you how much that call meant to me. I can’t stop thinking about it.
English

@AlexForbesOps I will climb up this hill with you. I've been beating the same drum over in my corner of the world for what seems like forever. And, imo, it starts w/ fewer screens in cars.

Prediction: Demand for analog experiences from consumer businesses will skyrocket over the next 10 years.
Tech and AI will add plenty of convenience and efficiency to our lives and will never go away.
But old fashion analog experiences will be sought after in the products people buy, places people shop, and restaurants people eat at.
The gentlemen who just purchased 80 Pizza Huts to revitalize them understands this.
Auto makers that pack 3 screens in the dashboard with minimal knobs and buttons, do not understand this.
Good ole hometown businesses that adopt slowed down, purposeful experiences will thrive.
Mark my words.
