We're speeding up our Warm Homes Plan with today's Future Homes Standard announcement and action to bring plug-in solar to UK shops within months. Here’s how this will future-proof your home and help cut energy bills for good 🏠👇

A truly shocking interview by a “Tory” politician. Andrew Boff denies biological reality and tries to patronise Julia, typical pro-Trans behaviour. @JuliaHB1: He’s a Conservative London Assembly member and you wonder why people aren't voting for you anymore! Absolutely. 👏🏽

🚨UNIONS DEMAND ED MILIBAND APPROVE NEW NORTH SEA OIL AND GAS DRILLING AMID IRAN OIL CRISIS BUT GREEN LOONY WONT BACK DOWN INSISTING ON WIND AND SOLAR!! Energy Secretary Ed Miliband has dismissed urgent demands for more North Sea drilling, bluntly telling MPs fresh licences will make “NO DIFFERENCE” to energy prices – even as Iran’s missile chaos throttles shipping routes and drives up costs. He declared: “Anyone who tells you that new licenses in the North Sea will make any difference to price is not telling you the truth.” Miliband is instead using the crisis to go “further and faster” on Net Zero – forcing solar panels on every new home and heat pumps instead of gas boilers. Tories forcing emergency Commons vote on Rosebank and Jackdaw fields, slamming Labour’s stance as “sheer lunacy”. Ideology over energy security – Britain pays the price thanks to mad Ed

The police response to Morgan McSweeney having his phone stolen in October last year seems bizarre As phones go his was about as sensitive as it gets. The number of every cabinet minister and the prime minister. Messages with all of them. Emails, text messages. You name it If you were a hostile state looking for an insight into what was going on in government at that time/ kompromat it's probably about as good as it gets And yet they treated him in the same way as tens of thousands of people are treated every year when their phones are stolen They gave him a crime reference number. Officers didn't speak to him. They didn't conduct an investigation. They just closed the case Now that's not to say they could have tracked down the thief - he was on an e-bike and wearing a balaclava for one. It's just the lack of any further investigation seems odd, although I'm sure it will be familiar to many of the 70,000+ people who reported their mobiles stolen last year More on our podcast The State of It pod.fo/e/3bdacf

We will *never* give in to the racists and extremists who seek to divide us. I'm investing £875,000 to reach young Londoners, online and off. Fear and hatred have no place on our streets or in our feeds. standard.co.uk/news/london/me…

I'm going to set out the conversation I had with the Metropolitan Police Press Office yesterday. People can judge whether their response represents an attempt to facilitate a legitimate journalistic query, or something else: Me: "Hi, I'm writing about the above issue for tomorrow's paper [Mandelson]. I would like to know: If the Met has any record of the reported theft of former Downing Street Chief of Staff Morgan McSweeney's mobile phone, as widely reported in the media. If any efforts are being made to recover the phone given its significance to the investigation. If any efforts have been made to obtain centrally held Government records of communications from the phone" Many thanks
