@jonfavs @mkhammer The Left routinely slanders anyone on the Right as a "Nazi". Lefties even use this alleged Nazism as justification for ending relationships with family and friends

I don’t know, you strike me as someone smart enough to know that a good test as to whether someone is sympathetic to Nazis is if they’ve ever said a single word in their entire life that could be construed as sympathetic to Nazis. But I guess the story you’d have us believe is this: a group of American marines, who risked their lives for this country, decided to get skull and crossbones tattoos together in their 20s that they all knew were Nazi symbols. Then they all kept their actual Nazi sympathies hidden for the next decade, a time when Platner frequently took his shirt off in front of his Jewish family, who I suppose either didn’t care about his Nazi sympathies or didn’t recognize the symbol you claim is extremely obvious. And then Platner, who was clearly not shy about expressing all kinds of views on Reddit, especially all the offensive shit he now regrets, somehow managed to keep his Nazi sympathies hidden from the world, as did his Nazi-sympathizing Marine friends who got the same tattoo. Yes, this makes sense. You cracked it for sure. Bravo. Congrats on being smarter than all those rubes in Maine who’ve fallen for the secret Nazi’s cover story.

I think if one is trying to figure out if a candidate is sympathetic to Nazis, one of the most important tests is whether the candidate knowingly got a death’s head tattoo signifying an elite, brutal group of SS officers and kept it until the second he wanted to run for Senate and someone noticed. It’s an insult to everyone’s intelligence to suggest otherwise. Sorry, his Medicare thoughts from last week are not permanent body art or absolution.
Jon Favreau@jonfavs

As the community note makes clear, I didn't delete it because I stand by it. But if MAGA world has decided their best play is to insult Mainers' intelligence by trying to fool them into thinking Platner's old tattoo makes him a Nazi sympathizer, best of luck in November!

@HansMahncke There is a very deep bench of conservative judges on appellate courts throughout the country. The reason to step down now is to ensure one of those young conservative judges takes his place. Don't risk the likes of Lisa Murkowski sinking a replacement in a narrower Senate

Clarence Thomas should stay on and become the longest serving Supreme Court Justice, which would happen on May 20, 2028, when he would surpass uber liberal William Douglas and still be only 79. For context, Stevens hung on until 90, Kennedy until 82, Breyer until 84, and Ginsburg remained on the bench until her death at 87. There is no reason to step down now, especially given there is no guarantee of a reliable replacement, particularly after the last two.

BREAKING NEWS: Justice Clarence Thomas is now our third longest serving Justice in American history! 34 years and 192 days. He is quite simply our greatest Justice. Justice Thomas recently delivered one of the most important speeches in American history, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It’s a must read, and link to speech and youtube video are below. Learn more about Justice Thomas’s inspiring life by watching the superb documentary, Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words or reading his exceptional memoirs, My Grandfather’s Son. A key to understanding Leftists is the massive disparity between Leftist intent and Leftist outcomes. Big Chief Lizzie Warren and Pete Boot-edge-edge proudly killed the Spirit/JetBlue merger, with the stated intent of maintaining consumer choice and holding down the cost of airline tickets. As a direct result, now Spirit is dead, consumers have fewer choices, prices are higher than ever and ~14,000 people are without jobs. Leftists base their actions on intent, because intent feels good emotionally. Conservatives base their actions on outcomes, because outcomes are a logical basis for decision making. Logic > emotion. We are not the same.

@RWMaloneMD He only handles large bureaucracies in a State that has large Republican majorities in both chambers. Thats easy compared to what Trump has to deal with. There is no deep state with significant powers in Florida

I am torn. DeSantis is a brilliant mind. I have met him, heard him lecture - there are few who are his match intellectually - which is why he belongs on the Supreme Court. On the other hand, he is the most effective manager of a large bureaucracy that I have seen in my lifetime. For instance, I could see him being an excellent Vice President pick in 2028. That talent, which could really help the USA for decades to come - would be wasted, if he was on the Supreme Court.

@tony7682 @dmengel51 @Acyn @WhiteHouse What part of "It's always worked without a golden ballroom" are you not getting? It's a fact. What’s next? “We need UFC fights in front of the White House!” ? Oh wait...

A reporter points out to Lindsey Graham that WHCD is a private event for a private organization that’s not held by the WH and had twice as many guests as the proposed ballroom would hold. Graham: WE’RE GOING TO BUILD THIS FACILITY! THE NEED IS REAL.

No. But I find it odd and amusing that lefties are so worked up -- just look at the unhinged rage in this thread -- over a badly needed renovation. Is it the biggest priority in national affairs? Of course not. Not even close. But the Left is still intellectually dishonest, inconsistent, blinded by personal animus in their opposition to it.

Is this a serious question? The ballroom will not cure cancer, nor bring about world peace either. It's not intended to solve every problem in our lives. It's simply intended to make the executive office function better and host formal events more efficiently. As for costs, make up your minds. Private donations - "corruption!" Taxpayer funded - "deficit!"

@tony7682 @Acyn How's the ballroom going to stop gun violence in our schools, churches, grocery stores, and theaters? And you're ok they want it at our expense?

@_Saarage_ @Acyn Seriously? You can't tell the difference between, e.g., a formal state dinner or black tie event held in a ballroom versus ... WWE?

@Thomas_Banacek @Acyn How do you know it is "rushed" or "slapped together"? Those are your only concerns? You would, hypothetically, be 💯 okay with it if slower to some extent?

@tony7682 @Acyn Then why rush it? Why not hire actual architects and get the planning commission involved so this ballroom fits into the landscape of the White House and surrounding space, and not just slapped together and shoved onto grounds? Stairs to nowhere? Ruins the landscape symmetry…

@MartyMonaghan4 @bklyntw @Acyn Another mind reading fail, and I've locked horns with "MAGA" on plenty of occasions. This whole thread is hilarious -- seeing lefties twist themselves into knots to justify and rationalize their bitter, personal, and irrational derangement over anything Trump does
