1/ Sen. Jim Guthrie has been refusing to give hearings to several immigration enforcement bills in the Senate.
That made me curious.
I started looking into who funds Guthrie’s campaigns to see if there might be a connection.

@tortuga91 Sandra, thanks for your thoughtful post. Last year, I sponsored major legislation to stop illegal immigration in Idaho -- the Idaho ICE Act. It passed. The same day, ACLU sued Idaho and called me a racist. Now, the narrative is supposedly that I want Illegals? LOL

This is my dad ... an Idaho farmer, a faithful conservative, who does NOT employ illegal labor. He has sacrificed and worked hard his whole life to provide for our family. He's not the exception. Call him a 'slave owner' and you lose me.

@kelly_a_anthon Senator, as a first gen of legal immigrants, I hear all the time that all immigration law attempts are racist. I simply know it isn’t true and that it is not applicable. So too is the reference of slave owners. Still certain processes keep a person living in poverty.

Sen. Guthrie with S1081- Drivers licenses for Illegals. 2023 Senate Transportation Committee- Testimony in favor from all those you expect: Idaho Dairymen's, IACI, Mormon Women for Ethical Government, Farm Bureau, Poder of Idaho, lots of anchor babies... Basically- If we give illegals drivers licenses they will surely pay for insurance and then they won't commit as many hit and runs. Same Senator is blocking mandatory e-verify, criminal penalties for employers for hiring illegals, auditing of the Idaho refugee system and mandatory 287g applications for all Idaho LEO.
