Last week’s shameful hearing and vote to gut anti-corruption efforts showed the need for more accountability. We halted the bill but need to keep our feet on the gas. We need leaders who represent the people, not powerful interests; and we need a grassroots army to build an anti-corruption movement. I’m putting out a call for people to step up. Let’s review the so-called public hearing process on RWJ Barnabas trying to close the hospital in Long Branch:   - violated public notification laws and scheduled the public hearing on closing Monmouth Medical Center during the workday - canceled it but 250 people showed up anyway - and then moved it out of Long Branch—into a room so small that our residents can’t even be heard as they voice their opposition to a plan that would close their hospital. Just look at this line of people waiting to speak. This is PLAIN WRONG.
