@weebuwingman @HealthRanger Lacking other restrictions, prices go up and/or people rely on alternatives.

@tracker1 @HealthRanger Macroeconomics- what happens when there is a global reduction of supply?

I guess I'm glad it was seized, but I wonder if they unconstitutionally held her until the dog got there.
Rodriguez v. United States, 575 U.S. 348 (2015): The Court held (6-3) that police may not extend a completed traffic stop, even by a few minutes, to allow a K-9 unit to arrive, unless they have independent reasonable suspicion of a crime.
@grok do we know the reason for this traffic stop?
English

From payday to prison in the blink of an eye. Troopers pull over this moving truck and discover a massive 1.7m dollar drug bust.
What started as a routine traffic stop on I-70 in Ohio turned into one of the largest cocaine seizures in Madison County history. Andrea Celaya-Rodriguez, 27, was behind the wheel of a Penske rental truck, claiming she was moving her life to Pennsylvania.
But Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers noticed something off immediately. Her body language—rigid, clutching the wheel, and trying to "hide" behind the door pillar as she passed the cruiser—was a massive red flag.
The Details:
The Bust: A K9 unit alerted to the vehicle, leading troopers to a produce bin in the cargo area. Inside? Three duffel bags stuffed with 110 pounds (50 kilograms) of cocaine.
The Street Value: Estimated at a staggering $1.75 million.
The "Job": Celaya-Rodriguez later admitted to the DEA that she met a man in Mexico who offered her $50,000 to drive the "shoe boxes" (kilo bricks) from Arizona to New York.
The Fake Move: Her rental agreement showed the truck was due back in Tucson, AZ, in just four days—a logistical impossibility for a cross-country move, which helped troopers dismantle her cover story.
The Legal Fallout:
Despite the roadside discussion about "working with them," the case went federal. In February 2025, Celaya-Rodriguez pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio to possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
She now faces a recommended sentence of 33 to 41 months in federal prison. It’s a stark reminder that in the world of high-stakes interdiction, a "quick $50k" often costs you years of your life.
That gut instinct of the officers led them to a huge hit that would have been on the streets if it was not for this great job by these troopers.

@EmeraldRobinson Of course they voted for those things... By using those things and spending money on them. If there was no money, they wouldn't be able to do it all.
Sometimes you don't get your way... That's how freedom works... Other people have it too.
English

It should be... IMO it's like of the few federal expenses that I'd keep in an ideal world. Reducing most of the country to 3-4 days a week for deliveries and bumping the prices up is really the only way to cover without junk mail.
As it is, a significant number of postal workers are temporary, without real benefits.
Though full week deliveries is what pets them do a lot of the rural deliveries for Amazon... So even that may not be a realistic option. A lot of those more rural postal stations are already pushing their employees into split shifts to handle all the packages, especially over the holidays around Christmas time.
That said, I'd rather use taxes to prop up the USPS before funding gender studies or circumcisions overseas. Or funding NGOs that only seen to funnel money into political propaganda.
English

@tracker1 @PalmerLuckey the tree part is for sure a stupid reason to not like junk mail. why don’t we make usps self sustaining without allowing junk mail
English

It is wild to see the ideological reversal associated with USPS.
Hundreds of green socialists crying "No, you have to let the capitalist megacorporations raze hundreds of millions of trees! You have to let the government force-feed consoooomer advertising to your family!"
Palmer Luckey@PalmerLuckey
It is time for the United States Postal Service to ban junk mail. Unsolicited spam calls are already prohibited by the FCC. Emails are heavily regulated by the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. Junk mail is the majority of mail, 100 million trees per year. Enough!

@PatsyDiabetes Unless you're playing with rats on the plane, you're not getting hantavirus. It's not generally transmissible between humans.
Unless it's been gain of function modified in a lab
English

This is outrageous..
Not a single person on my flight is masked up while we’re in the middle of a double pandemic (Covid + Hantavirus).
I politely informed the flight attendant that this is a super spreader event. She just shrugged and walked away. I've already filed a formal complaint with the FAA and CDC. This is reckless and cannot stand.
Masks save lives, the science is settled on that.

TREASON: Imagine a sitting Senator and former military officer receives an alarming classified briefing that shows we are almost out of missiles. Now imagine we’re on the brink of a negotiated peace deal with our enemy. Now imagine that Senator goes on TV and tells the world we’re out of ammo - do you think our enemies might scuttle the peace deal and just wait us out? That’s exactly what Senator Mark Kelly did yesterday.

English

The electoral college is important as part of shoring up against the tyranny of a majority. If 50.1% of the people vote to kill the other 49.9% does that make it okay?
Not to mention, that too many voters can't even communicate at a 6th grade level. I'm not convinced we shouldn't go back to letting state legislatures choose US Senators again.
English

@ScottSpaeth2 @nunyaaaaa222 @GuntherEagleman @StephenKing @grok I think that most people won't know the most of it for a long time, if at all. Other than some rich people seem to really like beef jerky (from rare and unknown sources) and pizza parties that include some creepy imagery.
English

@tracker1 @nunyaaaaa222 @GuntherEagleman @StephenKing @grok Nothing. It’s a red herring. That’s why it’s significant that NOBODY, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY said a thing about Epstein until sleepy joe retired.
English

I didn't say those things were strictly the same reasons as with women... they just indicate someone who is maladjusted in unable to be in what most would consider a healthy relationship.
I was with a *LOT* of women between my first and second marriage, and that didn't end exactly well... Even though I've been in my current monogamous relationship close to a decade, I still have trust issues.
English

Men bond in a different way than women but your point is still valid but I think for other reasons. Men with a high body count are either a good looking bad boy type that women desire or they have significant resources. I fall into the second category and have a high body count. And I don't have the ability or nor do I want to be in a relationship that I can't sleep with other women. I don't hide it, I tell every woman I date that I will sleep around. I won't embarrass you, I won't let your friends or family find out. I will tell you as much detail as you want to know and you are welcome to join in, in fact I prefer it. I have only one time out of many that a girl chose to exit the relationship after being informed that. I tell them this very early also. This isn't a two way street, she doesn't get the same privilege. I am ok to negotiate rules of the game and if I have agreed to the rules I will follow them. Like my last girlfriend that I just ended things with we had an agreement that if we aren't with another girl together, then she doesn't want to know about it, and I have only told her about the first time as after that she told me she doesn't want to know. And the other rule is that she will only be a one night stand no actual relationship beyond that and that I agreed to because its actually good for me as I tend to get myself into messy situations thinking with my dick I later regret so that has been good for me too. And use protection etc thats normal and one night stands I usually would anyways. I don't want to live a lie and I don't want to have to lie, if she were to ask I will tell her whatever she wants to know. If she doesn't like it then she doesn't have to stay. As of a couple days ago Im single so I am just goign to put together another roster and stay single.
English

@SteveLovesAmmo Starting to feel that way... I thought the woke insanity would calm down with a clear Trump victory, but it seems to be trying at not only a comeback, but expansion.
English

@GuntherEagleman @StephenKing @grok Hey Trump's bitch, why do you have a problem about releasing the files? Why does it matter who releases it if you are not protecting a pedophile?
English

@BrotherHawkins @RiseOfAlberta And how many people outside Alberta took that quiz? Where was it sourced from, what is the over/under on the population sample?
English

@JVJBell11 @RiseOfAlberta They aren't... that's the registrar's address... there is a privacy block on the domain's actual info.
English

@RiseOfAlberta Why are a bunch of American MAGA grifters based in Jacksonville, pushing for separation and trying to drive a wedge between Canadians?

English

@sircalebhammer All for it... Saskatchewan might even join them...
English

What happens when a central government uses and abuses a group of its people? They leave, or even more extreme, they join us? There is a legitimate chance Alberta may vote for independence and join the US. Let's break down the facts, the story, the why: youtu.be/vhE-YZo6cIU

Rise Of Alberta@RiseOfAlberta
🚨 BREAKING: 301,620 signatures have officially been announced for the Alberta independence petition. That is far beyond the required threshold to trigger the Alberta independence vote on October 19th. A massive day for the Alberta Independence movement.
English

@PatriotLiv @HP If that happened to me, and I lived anywhere near an HP office, I'd be dropping it off in front of their office with some vigor, and encourage everyone I know to do the same.
English

@QueenAnticommie I'd probably bring back Blockbuster at this point... the gatekeepers and all the streaming services are too much... video rental was better at this point... though OG Netflix by mail would be nice to have back as an alternative.
