The perpetuation continues, too....just last week while in-processing to a new position, the instructor opined that COVID was "so much more traumatizing and devastating than 9/11". Then came the tales (from Brooklyn, I might add....) of freezer truck morgues and overflowing bodies....

I worked as a physician in a community based hospital in the heart of Brooklyn, NY, during the entire pandemic. Hospitals were NOT overrun, and at no point were we loading bodies into freezer trucks. You were lied to. Fear is a powerful drug.

1 in 10 Americans now has an autoimmune disease. Lupus. Crohn's. Hashimoto's. Type 1 diabetes. Multiple sclerosis. Rheumatoid arthritis. Your doctor will tell you it's genetic. Or bad luck. Or that your immune system just "turned on itself." Harvard researchers disagree. A pediatric gastroenterologist at Mass General (Dr. Alessio Fasano) spent 20 years tracking down the missing piece. What he found changed the conversation. Every autoimmune disease he studied shared the same three ingredients: - A specific environmental trigger - Genetic predisposition - A leaky gut Take any one of those away, and the disease doesn't start. The gut isn't just where food gets digested. It's a one-cell-thick wall - The only thing standing between your bloodstream and everything you eat, drink, and swallow. When that wall is tight, your immune system stays calm. When it's leaky, Undigested food particles and bacterial fragments slip through into your blood. Your immune system sees invaders and attacks. But the particles look a lot like your own tissue. Attack the gluten fragments → attack the thyroid (Hashimoto's) Attack the bacterial fragments → attack the joints (rheumatoid arthritis) Attack them over and over → attack the nerves (MS), the gut (Crohn's), the pancreas (Type 1) This is called molecular mimicry. Here's what people report when they heal the gut wall: Skin clearing up Brain fog clearing up Digestion finally working Joint pain fading within weeks Autoimmune flares slowing down Energy returning after years of fatigue The things that punch holes in the gut wall: Gluten (yes, even if you don't have celiac) Glyphosate on conventional crops NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin) Ultra-processed food Chronic stress Antibiotics Poor sleep None of these are rare. Most people have all seven running on autopilot. I've been saying for 30 years: almost every chronic disease traces back to a broken gut. The science keeps catching up. The good news? Unlike your genes, the gut wall is something you can actually rebuild. Comment RESTORE and I'll send you a free guide on how to heal the gut and calm the immune system naturally. P.S. MUST Follow for me to DM you.

A client who'd been cleared of SIBO twice by two different practitioners came to me still dealing with the same symptoms. Same cycle every time: feel a bit better, never reach 100%, end up back where she started a few months later. Bloating, sulfur burps/gas, loose urgent BMs, mood shifts after meals, cystic acne around her period. Testing had only been breath tests and only measuring methane and hydrogen. Hydrogen sulfide wasn't being picked up. Ran a trio smart breath test, comprehensive stool test and blood work. Dug into symptoms, tolerances and patterns over the last two cycles. Things started making sense. Confirmed hydrogen sulfide. Several key bacteria deficient with low butyrate output. Suppressed secretory IgA, high inflammation and permeability. Low digestive enzymes, high bilirubin. This wasn't just SIBO. Simply throwing antibiotics at it the first round and antimicrobials the second with some probiotics afterward was never going to work. Within 12 weeks of addressing the issues, symptoms were gone. A month later, she was back to 100% this time and able to actually stay there. Have seen this a lot. It's almost always because a critical piece of the puzzle was never identified or not being addressed in the protocol. If you want a free guide on why issues return and the common mistakes I've seen, comment GUT and I'll DM it.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Catholics do not go to Mass because it is “inspiring.” We go because Jesus Christ is there. Body. Blood. Soul. Divinity. The same Jesus born in Bethlehem. The same Jesus crucified on Calvary. The same Jesus risen from the tomb. On every altar. At every Mass. Still giving Himself for the life of the world. This is why the Eucharist is not a symbol. It is the beating Heart of the Catholic faith.

Time and time again, I am reminded that God owes me nothing and that everything I have is a gift. I keep forgetting it and then suddenly, the realization hits me; it is mind-boggling how I keep forgetting it. Why do I act and feel as if God is indebted to me? Perhaps I have never fully grasped it and in my pride, I keep treating God as my equal and myself as worthy. I am offended at the injustice of others, but how dare I demand justice when I am not just? How dare I complain when He took strikes and offenses in silence? How dare I think I deserve better than He Himself got? He was poor - why do I always need more? He was offended - why do I desire praise? He suffered - why do I detest my crosses? It must be because I have never learned to truly love. To love Him and others for the sake of Him. May He grant me the grace to love, for I will be judged by my charity.

This has been covered repeatedly in recent years but I don’t think people quite comprehend the degree to which the Catholic Church is shifting away from progressive politics. It’s not just the priests, it’s the families in the pews too.
Ryan Burge 📊@ryanburge

Among Catholic priests who were ordained in the late 1960s: 68% describe their theology as progressive. 16% said it was conservative. Among priests ordained in the last few years: 2% describe their theology as progressive. 84% said it was conservative.

“Going to medical school is stupid.” That’s the narrative right now. And as usual, the well-intentioned people spreading it are wrong. The jobs AI is eliminating are not in the operating room. They are in the C-suite. CEO. COO. CFO. The white-collar administrative layer that hospital systems spent decades building between the physician and the patient. AI does not need a neurosurgeon to click an EMR 97 times to place an order before a trauma procedure. AI will review the case and handle the administrative work itself. I hope the largest hospital administrators in America read this here first. Your jobs are gone. The physician’s is not. The nurses’s is not. The system spent 40 years commoditizing clinical skill and inflating administrative control. AI just inverted the value hierarchy. The hands that heal are the last ones standing.
Alohacowboy@alohacowboysol

@DutchRojas It’s fun and exciting for Elon to say Optimus is coming for surgeons and AI will replace cognitive specialties in the blink of an eye…but if even if that’s 1/10th true…we should be able to vaporize the healthcare administrative complex in seconds…

40%+ of New England votes for Republicans. There are zero reps there. Blow me. :)
Nick@getyrtrouserson

@PolitiBunny New England isn’t gerrymandered. The way for Republicans to win there is to be less dumb, crazy and evil and therefore attract moderates. Such candidates largely do not win R primaries.

Healthcare costs in the U.S. have more than tripled since 1997. That’s not news to anyone who’s opened a medical bill. But not at the Surgery Center of Oklahoma. Since our founding in 1997, SCO has raised prices only once, to account for inflation. Even more telling: when we identify efficiencies or cost savings, we don’t pocket them. We lower prices and pass those savings directly on to patients. That’s the result of a physician-owned, transparent model built around one idea: charge a fair price, tell patients upfront, and deliver excellent care. No hidden margins. No incentive to inflate costs. Just accountability. Price transparency isn’t a slogan here. It’s a discipline. Price your procedure today at surgerycenterok.com

If there are people walking around who are too dumb to be punished for their crimes, then they very clearly should not have the same rights as the rest of us. It cannot be the case that everybody has the same rights, but only some of us the same responsibilities. If he’s too stupid to be punished, then he’s too stupid to vote, too stupid to have a drivers license. In the case of immigrants, anybody who met this criteria would very obviously be too stupid to immigrate. It cannot be the case that there is only one consequence for being too stupid and it’s that you can’t be punished for your crimes.
