I was wondering if anyone had a list of biotechs that got taken over by big pharma that would have blown up had they stayed independent $GBT types $BLU is now on that list Would make for an interesting study

No data on subs and now sharing data on engagement only once a year? $NFLX doesn’t want you to know about the status of underlying business, then why would you buy their stock?

Very happy I scheduled a vacation to be outdoors at a water park for a week. Great week to be stuck in an Airbnb with choking smog outside. @Canada @MarkJCarney get your shit together and manage your forests.

Thoughtful opinion piece from @houmanhemmati who says patients with rare diseases should have a place "at the table" when the FDA convenes adcomms to review new treatments. My take: The patient voice provides important context but ultimately adcomm deliberations should be science/data based. The FDA reserves a spot on its adcomm panels for a patient representative to be an active part of the deliberations. That's appropriate, and whenever possible, that person should either have the disease being discussed, or be from a relevant advocacy organization. But for too long, the open public hearing portion of rare disease adcomms have served little purpose but to pressure panel members into voting yes, even when an objective reading of the data warrant a no vote. Everyone know one-sided patient testimony is closely coordinated and organized by the drug company. You know who doesn't testify at adcomm open public hearings? Patients who get no benefit, or who are harmed by the drug being reviewed. Freedom of speech and the right to lobby government officials are important. Patients have every right to do so. I just don't believe using adcomms for that purpose is the right approach. biospace.com/fda/opinion-th…

It is very interesting to compare the semiconductor action to what happened in 2000. I recall a very similar dynamic about how chip demand was going to disrupt the cyclical pattern. $SMH
