48 hours have now passed since the edgeX TGE. Where should I even begin. Let me start with the conclusion. 1. I have not sold a single $EDGE token. I am still holding all of them. 2. But I cannot praise the edgeX team. They clearly made a lot of mistakes. // The edgeX team adjusted users’ token allocations to levels below expectations, and many users became angry. As for the users who were hit the hardest, many of them were people who only used the platform for one or two weeks at the very beginning, earned points, and then did nothing afterward. They were not real active users, but OG players. Literally, very early airdrop farmers. On TGE day, the team gave these users returns equal to, or greater than, the fees they had spent. They were not left at a loss. But since what they had originally expected was much greater upside, strong criticism emerged saying the team had neglected its OG users. // On the other hand, the team gave better token ratios to loyal users who stayed. In fact, users who held $MARU until the end received more EDGE tokens. This is somewhat similar to how holding $PURR on Hyperliquid led to a larger airdrop. Better rewards for loyal users. There is nothing inherently wrong with that. The team did treat loyal users better than early airdrop farmers who came and left. // Still, a lot of dissatisfaction came out from the community. A major reason was simple: people received fewer tokens than they expected. In response, the team locked up around 14% of the tokens. It was a major decision. But honestly, that was not what people were hoping for. They simply wanted to receive more tokens. That was all. As a result, the once-solid community is now filled with anxiety. // To be even more honest, I am also having a very hard time emotionally. This was a team I truly believed in. Should I share a short episode that shows just how much I believed in the team? Aside from doing the airdrop activities myself, I even paid money to buy points from other people. That is how strongly I believed this project would succeed. 😅 Of course, those points are now sitting at a loss of more than 50%. Well... I am not trying to blame anyone. I believed, I made the bet, and I lost. It just hurts a lot. // Up until the day before the TGE, I truly thought the team was perfect. They worked hard for the users, and they were sincere about building the project. But from the day of the TGE onward, many things have been disappointing. Very disappointing. // Even so, I am still holding all my $EDGE tokens. At the same time that I feel deeply disappointed in the team, I still hold on to one last hope for everything they have built. Circle’s investment, Amber’s incubation, a solid exchange product, and so on... From the perspective of an objective third party, there is probably a high chance that I look like I have lost my mind. And maybe I really have. // But there is one thing I want to make clear. I have no intention of ignoring the team’s mistakes. What is wrong should be called wrong. At the same time, I do not want to completely deny all of edgeX’s potential at this point. That is because the airdrop outcome, the token price, and the growth of the exchange itself are all separate storylines. The year of building that I followed did not look fake to me, and that is why I do not want to deny that part as well. The team does not have many options left now. Words about restoring trust may mean the least right now. // The key point is that the TGE has already happened. “In the end, crypto is all about price.” It is the phrase I hate the most, while also agreeing with it at the same time. And I hope the team will prove itself once again. // In Fullmetal Alchemist, there is a line about “equivalent exchange.” To gain something, something else must be lost. I hope the pain and sadness I am going through right now will turn out to be the “equivalent exchange” needed to achieve a good result.
